please help when exactly can I send N400?

Hi,my wife is US citizen I just called the uscis 800 number and asked when exactly I can send out my N400 and she said 6 months before 3 yrs end. I have read here that I can apply for Naturalization 3 yrs minus 90 days. or I can send it now??, the date on my greencard gonna be 3 yrs this December 13,2008 Which is correct? Thanks.

With a 3rd anniversary date of 12/13/2008, 90 days before that date is Sunday, September 14, 2008, so I guess you will have to mail it Monday, but really do not feel they will object if you mail in Saturday, September 13, 2008.
