I have been patiently waiting since December 21, 2007, but today I got worried and decided to check the status of my case - removal of conditions.

I typed in the number and here is what I see: This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. I tried many times and I know I am entering the right number. What can this possibly mean ? Have they lost my case ?

I will appreciate any info

Regards,

Ana

First, make sure you're using the number on the biometrics appointment letter.

If it still doesn't work, I still wouldn't worry too much. I did my biometrics over a month ago, and my number still shows up as not existing. If you're really worried, call the USCIS hotline, and ask to be elevated to 2nd level support, they'll probably just tell you your case is still being processed and not much info beyond that.

The other thing is, you're at the Vermont Service Center, where they're still just getting to applications filed in September last year. If you filed in December, they still won't get around to them for another few months at the current rate.

hmm, I wonder if it is because they are currently updating your file? With your submission date I would say you are coming due for an approval. If you still cannot access your number by tomorrow I would call the info line, and if that is unsatisfactory, then make an infopass.

You are checking the number that is on your biometrics letter and not the NOA? Yes?

I would double check to see that you are using the biometric appointment letter and not just the receipt notice, if so then I would definitely call customer service.

Wake up!!! wait until you get the apointment letter for finger print. The receipt number of that letter will work on the status check screen. NOA receipt number will not work.

thanks for all your input.

Yes I already went for biometrics a long time ago, can't find that letter :(

Is there any way I can find out about my case without that number ? And should I worry if my extension letter expires on January 18 ?

thanks again

That letter is the one with the number you can use. You might be able to call the hotline/make an infopass appointment to find out what that number is. I'm sure they can find it through your A number if you're really keen.

The Vermont service center is still just getting to applications from last September. If you filed in December, don't worry too much at this stage, they won't get around to approvals for December for a couple of months yet. You can see the VSC timeline here:

Make a phone call and ask. I had that issue with the NOA for our K-1. When I called, they assured me it was there and it was just a fluke of the system.

Our ROC NOA was in there after about 3 weeks.

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast
