Question regarding university or college transfer grades from another country

I`m not sure I`m posting in a right forum so please forgive me if I`m wrong

I`m an undergraduate from my home country university and I have my school`s official certificate here with me. The problem is it is of cause in my native language. I want to start inprocessing in college. I live in DC area and it is whole bunch of certified russian-english translators here. What if I will take my certificate to be translated to the local certified translator??? Is that going to be good enough for university??? I`ve heard something bout apostille but to my best understanding that should have been done in my home country.

Please give me some advice.

You will have to have your degree and or transcripts evaluated by an accreditation service here. It will probably cost a couple hundred dollars depending how in-depth of a evaluation you want to have done.

You might want to ask the collage that you would like to transfer to what service that they prefer you use.

I suggest checking with the uni themselves which transaltions are eligable! And Dan + Gemvita were correct pointing out diploma evaluation. Your school will be able to tell you which evaluation agencies they accept. Good luck!

I didnt need an evaluation as long as youre able to prove you have enough years of schooling... but that depends on the college you wanna go to. So you might wanna ask them as well!
