Well, six and a half months after filing a no fee I-90 to correct the immigration category on my wife's 10 year card, we got an email last night informing us that USCIS has ordered production of a new card!!!. We had given up on the application because when we went to an InfoPass a couple months back, they didn't have any information about the I-90 in their system.

Hats off to the USCIS California Service Center!!! Way to go!

In case anyone wants to know, there were no touches on any of her cases until the approval email was sent. Now, the only case showing an update is the CR189.

Thanks for posting the update! It is good to know CSC does work on the I-90s.

The officer at my infopass appointment said they were working on my I-90 and that I should get a new card in the near future. That was about 7 weeks ago. But, it is only about 4 months from filing.

Flying back recently from a trip overseas, the immigration officer asked if I lost the PR card that I had to file an I-90. When I explained there was an error in my name, he went "Really! The government actually made a mistake???" He also said if he had a dollar for everytime the government made a mistake, that he could have retired early. I was glad to get an officer who had a sense of humour and recognized the goof-ups :-)

Well this post gives me some hope yet. I sent the I-90 in to the California Service Center and it was received Feb 20th, 2008. Thats over six months and I'm still waiting to hear something back. I called after my 180 days to file an inquiry and the gal on the phone said it would be 1 month to have an immigration officer look at my case ROTFL! I hold out hope that I may receive my corrected card some day, I mean how hard can it be to change "M" to "F" for sex and drop a new one in the mail

Ah, what we have to look forward to...

My husband's card arrived with the wrong birthdate on it. We haven't sent in the I-90 yet. We did make an Infopass appointment for next week so they can stamp his passport.

Who is the USCIS card maker and why does it seem like there are so many errors? Sheesh...

Turns out when we got the new card last week it had the same category code as before.

Now, why would they bother to issue a new card if there was no correction to be made to the old one?
