How did you all go about getting your vaccinations? Did the panel doctor do them or did you get it done by your family doctor? Also, can they access records of vaccinations you have previously recieved. I have no idea what needles I got in school, which is the only time I received them. And how many vaccination do you get at a time? There are almost 20 on my list!!!

What part of Canada are you from? I'm from Ontario and I was able to call the public health office who keeps your records for all your vacinations done in school and they faxed me their copy for free. You can also have a blood test done to see which ones you are vaccinated against.

Only 4 or 5 of them are required, they are age specific, the panel doctor will know which ones are required.

For example Polio vaccine is only needed by children, not adults.

Other things can be tested for like Varicella (AKA Chicken pox) if you had chicken pox when young, the the vaccine may not be needed.

One last note: These are NOT required for K-1 visa, they ARE required when adjusting status in the USA after marriage, you can get them done before filing I-485 to adjust status, and get them noted on the required I-693.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You most likely had all the required vaccinations as a child at school.

In B.C., you can contact your local Public Health Unit for your records. I needed my daughter's records for her K-2 visa, and they had all her vaccinations on record. Also, did your parents keep your vaccination booklet that gets updated at the doctor's office when you got immunizations as a baby?

Here in Croatia, all kids get ten thousand million shots right after they're born, then there are more during elementary and higs school and then again the first year of college. I've seen the list of required vaccinations a bunch of times and I am fairly sure I've gotten almost all (no HPV because it didn't exist back then and now it's just young girls who get them (here, at least) and I might not have one of the two hepatitis vaccinations). My interview won't be happening anytime soon, but I'd still like to know in advance how one gets prepared when it comes to this. Do I have my family doctor issue some sort of a document than I bring with me to the panel doctor?

I know, from what I've been told here, that none of these are required for K-1, but since we have pretty awesome healthcare here in Croatia and I will get to keep it at least as long as I am here, it most definitely wouldn't hurt me to get whatever I might end up missing for free...

I am pretty sure they need to be done before or at the time of the medical for the k1. I had the blood test...too old for Ontario to have kept my records. I only needed tetanus and I had that last week.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Vaccination Requirements

United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements. See IV Vaccination Requirements for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

My fiance just had to have his vaccinations for our K-1. His interview is set at the Embassy in London next week! He needed only 6 of the vaccines that they had listed, so don't feel too overwhelmed. They gave them to him in only two shots and he was out of there.
