well i had my husband call to find out what is going on since they got our ds-230 packet last week and never put it in the system and he got an RFE on line 20. (places lived) so he said he asked the lady and i guess they didn't know exactly but gave possible reasons. We were thinking weird did they want address even though it just asked for towns...then I looked at the copy we had. he forgot to put the date in :(

so, i really don't want to wait for the letter since i can see what was missing. is the barcode sheet basically the same as what i sent in before? any help would be great.

Best to wait for the RFE letter before sending anything in...

Yes, I would wait for the RFE as well just to avoid any further confusion and making the process take longer.

why wait for it when we know exactly what is wrong? they said everything was fine except question 20. and on the photocopy of what we sent, i see that is what is wrong. they said they just need a new part 1 and that was cuz of the one mistake

Yes indeed why wait....however.

I did this, sent in the DS-230 RFE/Correction in advance, long story short they wanted something else too - that the operator couldn't see. I ended sending that separately and it also ended up really really slowing down our paperwork.

Does this mean you shouldn't go ahead and send yours? No it doesn't, you do what you think is right (as I know you will) - i'm just saying beware that it might cause a problem in processing.

Good luck
