Hi All

We filed our K-1 visa (well they received it on the july 3rd an noticed date of July 22nd), we got approval today on Mandy's visa( August 27), We are EXCITED!!!. We are now curious as to how long the rest of this process is gonna take an what all is involved if anyone else has had an expedited fiancee visa

Wow... CONGRAT'S!!!!

Did you do anything specific to expedite it?

I filed almost identically to your dates but was thinking it will be a 4 month haul at least. If you filed normal, this is encouraging to say the least...hopefully mine was in the same bundle. Hahahaha

TY an yes, some extreme hardships brought on this expedite

You may want to take a look at the timelines for South Africa to get an estimate :)

Would those be correct timelines for expedited visa's????

They will be regular times unless someone specified in their timeline that it was an expedite.

we are wiating on the Approval notice now, so what happens after that??? Our lawyer said there is another $400 filing fee for something, after we allready sent the $455 for the visa, is that true an if so what is that for??? An does anyone know someone that had theirs expedited??

next you have the medical fee. which varies from country to country. and the fee for the visa which is $131USD.

June 15th, 2006 -- Met in Person

Feb 1st, 2008 -- Filed I-129F

May 2nd, 2008 -- Visa Interview = Approved. (91days)

May 27th, 2008 -- Damian moves to America!

July 23rd - 30th, 2008 -- Damian's Mum Comes to the US for our wedding.

July 25th, 2008 -- Wedding Day!

March 16th, 2009 -- AOS Sent

May 8th, 2009 -- EAD & AP Approved (51days)

July 14th, 2009 -- AOS Approved!! (118days)

July 21st, 2009 -- Green Card Received (125days)

No RFEs the whole process :) All done myself.

December 4th - 30th, 2009 -- Visited England

April 8th - 30th, 2010 -- Damian's Brother visits us here in PA.

January 19th, 2010 -- Damian got his PA license.

December 10th - 19th, 2010 -- Visited England

September 16th - 30th, 2011 -- Damian's Parents came to visit us here in PA.

June 1st, 2011 -- Mailed ROC to Vermont.

February 21st, 2012 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

April 14th, 2012 -- N-400 Sent to Dallas Lockbox

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

Here are the fees you need to pay (those I can remember):

1. Medical exam (varies from country to country) - it includes a physical exam and vaccinations

2. Police certificate (varies from country to country)

3. Visa application fee - $131

I have no idea what the $400 filing fee is.

Vaccination requirements: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html

As a K1 your fiancee is not required to have the vaccinations done before coming to the US but a lot of people get it done because it is generally cheaper than getting them done in the US.
