Carrie, I spoke to Said and he called a guy he knows at the embassy to check on the situation... says in name clearance again... inch'allah it will be finished soon....

hugs,

Noura

Thanks Noura, Simo told me Said called him this morning. Simo told me that the security guy said it was in some name check, but sounds like it is the same thing they already did. Still doesn't make any sense to me, but I do appreciate Said asking. Please tell him thank you for me.

Well according to DOS we are still "pending" and will not be done in the near future. The consulate called Simo yesterday, but he missed it. He called this morning and was told to come back and get his passport, but NO visa. I don't understand why this Consulate is jerking us around like this. I feel like everything is falling apart now and no one will give the slightest clue as to what is going on.

All I can feel or think right now is that something is wrong, they are going to deny us or send it back to US. Why else would they ask for the passport and then give it back without issuing a Visa??

Carrie,

I think they are telling him to pick it up because you are back in administrative processing, and nothing more. They are not supposed to *keep* passports. Someone probably screwed up and ordered his checks again, not realizing they were done. Since they don't know how long it can take, they don't want to be in possession of the passport all that time (this is why they don't keep them at the time of the interview unless they plan on issuing the visa right away). He passed the first check and he will pass this one.

What does that mean?? How do they know how much time it will take?? Does this mean you have gone from AP to AR?? That is my best guess. What have you heard from your representatives?

To be honest I have no idea. I have called DOS 3 times. Each time I get something different. First time I was told just pending and that they cannot say how long it will take, could be few days or a few months and that it changes daily. Second time, case looks really good, she sure he will get it, just a matter of when, but should not be too long. Third time, the lady's comments were that the case is pending and that it most likely won't be complete in the near future. I have never been told AP or AR. I am just completely confused at this point. So, adding to it all was the Consulates call.

Well, I did call the consulate and spoke to a lady. She said they were giving his passport back because he was back in processing. She said that it was something different from the first AP and it came up after the first one was completed and they had called for his passport. She left it with they will contact when it is complete. So...we are right back where we started a month ago after the interview, not knowing what they are doing, why or how long it will take. It would not be so bad if they had just not called to begin with.

I have both my Senator's offices involved. They had sent inquiries in about why were are back in AP. So I called them today about the lastest phone call and all each one said was that they still have not recieved a response yet from Casa and until then there isn't much they can do. Big waste.....

oooh Carrie.

i am thinking of you.

this is insane and unfair. I cant believe how ridiculous this is...another thing i hate is that they have no concern about the people involved...come travel to casa, go home..then travel again. Not at all considering the persons location or work or anything. Then they give no definete information. It makes me incredibly angry.

Othmane was called to bring his passport and when he got there then told him that he wasnt called yet. ridiculous. so i got on the phone and called everyone..down to the Embassy in Rabat, spoke to a really understanding person who LISTENED (amazing). and they sent internal emails and inquirys for me.

Just stay on it..as i know you are...

What a mess!!! Came after the first one was complete?? That makes no sense at all.

It sounds like those who you speak to at the DOS know nothing, it is my guess, they are guessing! Let's hope so!

As you know our petition was returned to CIS from Casa. When we were going through that situation we knew nothing!! Casa refused to talk to me. NVC said they knew nothing. CIS knew even less. Senators and congressman knew little to help. They only found out info that I already knew. To me the worst part is not knowing anything. If only they would tell you more of what is going on.

It wasn't until I received the NOA that I found out little by little what the process was. It appears those in our government who deal with immigration issues treat us as if we are criminals until they can prove otherwise. That is how we felt. Big time CIA FBI stuff. My gosh I don't have the guts to tell my family, friends or co-workers we have been made to feel a though we are wanted criminals!

Once again I am so sad to hear that you are going through all of this. I am hoping it will be over soon for you.

IMBRA does not affect us. Our NOA1 was dated well before March 6. This is something the Consulate ordered, not anyone here.
