We were issued the 221g for AP. Advised it was completed 5/10 and notification was sent to the Consualte. Last week (5/16) the Consulate called and said to bring passport and he did that. Now we are back is AP...why?? Can someone anyone please tell me why this would happen. AP was just complete less than 2 weeks ago, it's not like it was expired. I don't understand what is going on and no one will tell. Consulate deletes my emails without reading them and the DOS won't say anything but that we are "pending". :help::cry:

Carrie I am not sure but it could be IMBRA. But I do know that AP cases have go thru visa review meetings with DOS and then back at the embassy. Once they both have the meetings they will issue the visa. It is good that they had him take in his passport.

Visa meetings are the last week of each month and then the embassy will make movement on the first week of the following month is what I have seen on VJ and it was in our case.

Good luck.

Mary

Carrie,

I don't have an answer but I am so sorry. I think this goes beyond the usual BS from this consulate and is downright cruel.

Who told you that Simo is in AP again? Is it possible they have made a mistake?

I know someone who was continually told they were in AP after their visa was approved (but not issued). The consulate didn't have their act together and I think they were just emailing a wrong canned reply.

I hope this is resolved soon.

It was DOS that told me he is pending again. I called twice so it obviously is not a mistake. They did tell me this has nothing to do with IMBRA. What I don't understand is why they would tell him to bring his passport and his visa was ready to be issued, they just had others to print first and then turn around and send us back to AP. Well there goes all our plans....

I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. I cannot imagine having this happen after the high of getting the call to bring in the passport. I feel outraged and it isn't happening to me, so I know it must be incredibly hard on you.

Hopefully it won't be too much longer and you can take faith knowing the next phone call WILL be the one telling Simo to come get his passport with the visa in it (not that it makes what they are putting you through justifiable).

This process certainly tests us. One of these days, someone is bound to lose it with the consulate.

I called 2 times and both times I was told the same thing...pending. I was told it could take days, weeks or months, they don't know. She said she saw where he was pending before and complete and notification was sent to Casa, but apparently something else came up and they send it back for more security checks. I have been in tears ever since. I wish they had never called him to bring his passport cause this is just completely heartless.

I am so sorry. I hope they are wrong!!! And you will hear this week!!! I know all about their heartlessness! And knowing Casa won't respond doesn't help either. Just wondering, can your senator or congressman get more info for you?
