I think I recall that they also have a tram/train that will take you direct to Miami International from Ft. Lauderdale airport as well. (www.iflyswa.com)

Are you talking about Tri-Rail? I lived in that area for the last 10 years and I never heard of any tram/train from Miami to Ft.Lauderdale other than Tri-Rail and it doesn't go into FLL itsself.

I think it's called Metro-Rail or something like that. I know that it does go between the two airports but I have never taken it. Just something I considered when exploring options a year ago.

Use the cheapest one you can find as they're all pretty much the same. Check out Orbitz, Expedia, Yahoo Travel, Priceline, and all the million other travel websites for some cheap deals. If you don't fly that often, your "experience" with the airline is going to be about as important as "did they get you there?" and that's it.

That said, I love South West, or as I like to call it, "The Greyhound of the skies." Anyone used to taking the Greyhound Bus will know what I'm talking about. If you go on Greyhound from Chicago to New York, you have to stop in LA, Seattle, Orlando, maybe Houston, then on to New York. You can't just fly straight there, and it's always an adventure. South West is the same way! If you want to fly from LAX to Orlando, you're probably going to stop in Phoenix, St. Louis, Memphis, then finally in Orlando. But, that ticket is only going to be about $109. Plus, it's so fun.... as soon as you get on the plane, the head stewardess (Or, flight attendant for all you PC people) is on the intercomm screaming:

"Hurry up, get in your damn seats. Captain finta take off. Close the doors, sit down we boutsta go. Come on mofos. Harry up!"

And try getting something to drink! You might have time to squeeze in a can of Coke, but you'll be landing in about 22 minutes anyway, so HARRY UP!!!

To get from MIA to FLL you can take the Tri-Rail.... However you take a bus from MIA to the Tri-Rail station and when you get to the Ft. Lauderdale airport station there is a bus that shoots you down the road to the airport

Wench was asking about domestic flights. Southwest is great but somewhat limited on the cities they fly to and from. Based on wench's initial post, don't know enough to be sure if Southwest would work (although she didn't list it as an option).

Yep, its the US domestic Im interested in.......Am flying over that big ocean with qantas. First and only time I've been out of australia was flying Hawaiin.....should of seen me looking out the window, first at the HA aircraft, then at qantus aircraft :o HA was half the size and looked like a toy in comparison. Its way more expensive but this time I dont care.....Im going on a big plane

The ones I listed are the ones that came up in the connecting flights I am looking at.

we serve OREO & cheeze nips cookies on our flights!

That's what I meant. Tri-Rail does not actually go into either airport. You have to get a bus from the airports to the Tri-Rail stations or vice versa.
