From what I saw of it (I fell asleep), I think she made it pretty clear that her supporters should support Obama and not McCain, which I think was the goal. She did what she had to do. And I liked her orange suit.

On the bolded: :o we need to talk. She looked like a pumpkin ;)

Kidding. I think indeed she did what she had to do.

I'm sure that the Republicans would have found a way to attack Obama even if she bent over and gave the speech praising Obama through her rear end.

You have to admit, you are biased. :P

Of course- towards issues.

Hmm well if you say so. :P

Where do I differ from the issues? All I seem to read from the opposition are lies that taxes would go up (without specifying for whom- certainly not those that are not rich, as is the case in reality), and something about surrender in Iraq when its perfectly clear the majority of the US population wants us to leave Iraq... not to mention this vague argument based on experience when the standard for such experience is being fiscally irresponsible and waving a diplomatic stick as if this was the age of Big Stick Diplomacy. Oh and this very interesting attempt at judging fitness to lead while ignoring the complete and utter failure that the current administration has practiced in its own particular brand of fitness. I just wonder about that bias, after all.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The conventions have turned into media events because most Americans have no stomach for the tedious realities that are politics. How many people actually watch C-SPAN? They are just giving us what we want. If they got up there and read their proposed policies nobody would watch.

How many of you who complain about the rhetoric have actually gone to the candidates web sites and read through the details of their plans? The same lack of interest that keeps most people from consuming the gritty details behind the candidates plans would certainly keep them from watching the candidate on TV discussing his plans in detail.

The conventions are carefully crafted to appeal to as many people as possible. We, in aggregate, are responsible for the lack of content in these events.

The bias comes with thinking that the way you see it is the way everyone should. Clearly many people disagree about which party is doing which thing or failing at which thing. I'll admit I have bias based on issues and therefore will be in favor of one party over another usually. Like I said, I am not saying I am not biased. There are a couple people on VJ who seem to be able to criticize each party equally, I find them to be the most objective and not as biased. When I read views such as yours, they are clearly biased against McCain and in favor of Obama. What's wrong in admitting that? :P

I think a lot of us have read the candidates web sites and some of us are used to party conferences that produce debates on policy and determine the direction the party will move forward in.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well we can't be more clear as to what is the current scenario in government and what has failed in the current time frame. If its a bias to want to get on another boat to avoid sinking, then perhaps there should be enough time for most to do so without fear of having the rest of the population sinking the entire group by wanting to continue taking on water.

So yes- a bias against more of the same from McCain is a bias in favor of something better.

The woman is certifyable. If she had any respect for her fellow women, she woiuld have divorced the idiot she is married to years ago. But her blind politicfal ambition decided that she needed his 'help'.

Speech???....who wants to hear some canned rhetoric prepared by her staffers....politics are just plain boring.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I have been to several political conventions in different countries and that is exactly what the 'conventions' are... pep rallies.
