Second Visa Interview

Hi! This is my first time on any discussion board, so you all will have to bear with me. In December, my husband's visa was denied and he was barred from the U.S. for ten years in Ciudad Juarez. I returned an I-601 and we got notice on May 5 that the waiver was approved. Today I got the letter in the mail for his second interview to be June 28. This is the same packet of information we got for the first interview. Does anyone know if he has to take all that information and paperwork again that he needed the first time? Any info will be helpful.

You may have better luck in the waiver thread but I will try to answer your questions. His medical is good for one year. So he will only need that again if it's expired. You will need to take your 2005 taxes and you may want to take proof of him being in Mexico the whole time. When we went to our second interview they only asked Javier if he had been in Mexico the whole time and if he had been in any trouble. It's really not a big deal. He shouldn't need any other paperwork. There are a lot of us over in the waiver thread that went through CDJ. You should come over there and see what all the other girls say. I think I am correct but it wouldn't hurt to get some more opinions. Good luck!

I was just reading your timeline and realized that you had been through this stuff and j has his visa, green card and ssn. Congrats on that!! If the only reason they gave my husband a denial was for being here illegally more than one year, and our waiver is approved, does that mean that he will have no trouble getting his visa this time? Thanks for your help!

I had a friend who was also denied also and the reason was becasuse he overstayed and when he had his 2nd interview he passed. What was your husband's reason for denial? The second interview will go smooth if the previous reason for denial was not too bad.

The only reason my husband was given for denial was that he had lived here for more than a year illegally. I hope everything does go smoothly in June, because our 3 kids are about to wear me out Do you or anybody know if we will have to pay a big penalty for him to come home?
