Hello,

I am a US citizen and my wife is currently in the U.S. on a TN visa, which she received before we began the CR-1 process. I have just submitted the I-864, and my wife will be submitting the DS-230 in a matter of days. My question is, when it comes time for the medical immunizations/interview, will her current status as a TN holder (and the fact she is currently in the U.S.) jeopardize her chances of being approved for the CR-1? Has anyone had experience with this kind of situation? I am hoping she can just go home to her local consulate when its time for the interview, but I'm a little unclear on the rules here. Could we just file an I-485 and do the interview in the U.S.?

Any insight would be very much appreciated!

Also, now that we are in the midst of our CR-1 process, does this mean that if she were to leave the US, she would not be allowed back in on her TN?

Thanks!
