I have found Weetabix here south of Atlanta in Kroger's regular cereal aisle as well.

I just saw Weetabix in the "international foods" aisle at the Kroger Signature on Sweetwater Blvd. in Sugar Land, Texas. Top shelf, so either have a spring in your step (jump) or ask for help from someone who ate all his vegetables.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Are you SURE you can't get them in the regular grocery store? In Florida, both Albertsons and Publix sell them - look in the 'healthfood' section of the store, not with the regular cereals.

I found weetabix in the health food or natural food aisle in bel air supermarket in sacramento. I was very excited! :dance:

However when I got home and eagerly tucked in them they tasted slightly different, not sure what it was, but something just wasn't right about them. Very disappointing :crying:

So I had to resort to getting my folks to ship some over to get my fix! :thumbs:

THe thing I was stressing out about the other day was cream.....I wanted clotted cream as I was going to make hubby scones, but can't find anything even similar!

nope, I don't think there is anything similar in US stores. But you can get it at World Market if there's one near you, as well as most on-line Brit shops.

When clotted cream is not commercially available, a reasonable copy may be made by combining two parts whole milk with one part whipping (heavy) cream, heating at the very lowest possible heat for a couple of hours until a skin forms, leaving it undisturbed overnight, and then harvesting the skin and its underclots. The remaining milk may be consumed or used in any number of recipes.

That happened to me before.. maybe it's the milk? Try a different brand. Weetabix for me at least are almost exactly the same.. chocolate now that's just wrong what they did to it over here!... They have weird versions of Mars (Milky Way), Milky Way (3 musketeers), Snickers is almost the same but still something missing... then of course Twix nearly the same.. but not peanut butter Twix.. that's just wrong!

I stopped smoking since I got over here so maybe it's my taste buds going insane and it all really tastes the same but I swear there is a ton of things that taste different. Bread is one of em.. then again anyone read the "Ingredients" in the food over here compared to back home? :huh:

it does all taste different because they use different ingredients, and a lot of mass produced American chocolate doesn't actually put chocolate in it, (search Hershey's for recent news articles) and what does have chocolate in it, is lower grade and less than what we're used to from other parts of the world.

oh gad, yes... 'High Fructose Corn Syrup' is known simply as 'The EVIL' in our household :wacko:

and it's in EVERY-bloody-thing... upside is, I'm now experimenting with making my own stuff, from bread to granola bars to whatever you can think of, so I have more control over what goes into stuff... it's great :)

can't make my own cheese though :(

and even halloumi is a bit wrong over here :(

I agree, things just taste different... and it may be inherent bias ( :innocent: ) but I haven't found much yet that I think tastes better...

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Yum, Weetabix! I have been having it for brekky for the last two weeks since it got a bit cooler outside. I love it with hot milk and a tiny sprinkling of demerara sugar.

I get mine in Meijer in the foreign aisle. I am in Southern Indiana - New Albany. I'm surprised you can't get it over in Evansville. Also saw it in Kroger.

Meijer stocks a great selection of Brit foods including HP sauce, Heinz beans, McVities chocolate digestives, Marmite, Birds custard powder etc etc. Dammit, this is making me hungry!
