I am on the process of being naturalized in few weeks. My interview is scheduled for Sept 19. Meantime, NVC has sent me a copy of DS 3032 along with AOS (Affidavit of Support) fee. I just paid it. My I-130 was approved in September 2004, PD is August 2004.

My question is:

Since, I-130 is approved and AOS fee is paid, how long more it takes for rest of the process, once I upgrade my case after I became US citizen? Your input will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Your case might be different then mine, but it took me a few months to get approved after I upgraded but it was at USCIS stage.

Good Luck

When I filed a petition for my relative I was a legal permanent resident (green card holder). I recently became a U.S. citizen. How can I upgrade the petition?

Please make a copy of your Naturalization Certificate. Send the copy - NOT the original - to the NVC with a letter containing the beneficiary name and case number of the petition you want to upgrade.

Please see the NVC’s contact information.

Check the link here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...0.html#petition

As soon as they have your papers I think it should go really fast, you are almost done but it will depend on your embassy and interview.

Good Luck.
