Hi,

I got here in the states using a K1 visa.We finally got married. And we couldn't wait to file for ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS. and I badly need your help, guys.

I would truly appreciate it if you can provide me answers to the following queries:

1.) How much do we have to pay for the forms?

2.) What forms do I need to fill out?

3.) When will I be allowed to work?

4.) Does my husband need to file a I-130 petition for me?

5.) What other documents do I need to send along with the forms?

Other tips which you think will be helpful in filing for an adjustment of status would be acknowledged.

Thanks a lot guys.

Is I-130 a new requirement for AOS? I thought only I-485 for the Adjustment of Status , I-765 for the Work Permit and the AP form.

I don't remember filling up I-130 for the AOS when filed last January. So far we did not receive any notice for additional documents.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

I agree with everything except question #4. I'm not at this step yet, but isn't the 1-130 for a K-3 visa? Per USCIS instrucitons for I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

Purpose of Form :

For citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States to establish the relationship to certain alien relatives who wish to immigrate to the United States.

Otherwise, richo pretty much answered your questions
