Hey guys...well just a heads up, his plane was delayed 2.5 hours :(

He called me early this am to let me know, but they were also boarding the plane ontime, so I was like '#######?'

I went to the arrival airport's website, and they had a flight tracker but it was messed up info. They had the flight as already left, yet it wasn't scheduled to leave for an hour or so. Then I went to the departure airport's website, and under 'live departures' it WASN'T THERE AT ALL.

I wound up calling the hotline, which transferred me to cust service cos supposedly the flight number I had was invalid (bollocks) and the lady said it was leaving that moment.

If not for a very good friend calming me down thru this whole thing, I would have seriously been crying my ### off. It's funny given the amount of traveling I do, but I HATEHATEHATE flying. it really could send me intoa panic attack. And this is the first time we've used a charter flight, so I'm a little concerned cos it was so cheap, lol

Once the flight left, it popped up on the departures, so that maks me happy.

Anyways, that's all I know!

Thanks for asking guys......(L)

Hey guys, just a little update....D finally arrived!!

Hours late & really knackered...his flight was a little bumpy, but overall it was pretty good considering it was one of these budget airlines. Flew into a smaller airport than where it usually goes, but it was really easy to get to. Only probbo is that you have to wait outside for them to clear customs, and there's a huge door inside the sliding ones that block your view of who's still in the queue. His bag was THE LAST one off the plane, so he cleared customs & immi pretty late...the herd was thinning and I was getting freaked out cos there were less and less people coming out. But finally he emerged, and all was well. The dear that he is that he is only had 2 kilos of suitcase room, but used it bringing pressies for me and my parents too!!!

There's not really too much to say, actually. We stayed in a hotel in the touristy part of town for two nights which I thought was a load of fun in a very cheesy way. We even laughed a the tourists, lol. Hrm...what else? The safe in our room malfunctioned, and we couldn't get our stuff out of it until the morning we left when they had to drill a hole in it!!! Grr that sucked & I was freakin out. We didn't do much :P cept go out to eat and do a little shopping. :P :P We stopped off at a Brit pub, and they had cider, which made D very happy, lol. Then we found out this place was airing the friendly with Jamaica. omG he was happy as larry.

The heat is getting to him quite a bit tho.

The morning we left, we had to leave at 8 to get to the pub by 9 to watch the friendly. England stuff Jamaica 6-nowt!

Now we're home and I have to cover the floor shift at work (answering phones, drumming up leads) from 10-4. Sunday floor is usually pretty good considering that most people are reading the paper & having the time to call on Sunday, so it was too good a shift to pass up. He's at home sorting stuff on his 'Honey Do' list....setting up a new home theatre system, networking all the tivos to the puter, etc.

It is soooo wonderful to have him here. It feels very natural & the way it was meant to be!

totally lurved up! (L)(L)(L)(L)(L)(L)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Fantastic news Lisa!!! (F)

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Awwwww, glad you made it safe Dave

I can sympathise with you both on the journey, the first time Gary came to the UK last July AA totally f#cked up his journey and he ended up staying the first night of his holiday in Chicago instead of London!!! It was the first time he'd ever flown and there I was at 4am UK time trying with the help of a friend to find him a bed in Chicago. He ended up losing a whole day of his trip and he only had 10 days to start with, then they lost his luggage and it turned up 2 days late in the UK!! Some VJ'ers may well remember my frantic posts  Note - I can laugh about it now!

Have a wonderful time together (F)
