Hi everyone. So, we have not had our I-129F approved yet, but we want my Salvadoran fiance to get his immunizations that will be required for AOS now while he is in El Salvador, to save money. The problem is that he has never been vaccinated for anything and we are unsure which ones he needs. I was informed he needs TD, MMR and Varicella for the K1 visa. As far as AOS in the States, I looked on the USCIS website and there are like 20 vaccinations listed but it says that you have to speak with a Panel Physician (only in the States) to determine which ones you need. So, he doen't want to just get everything on the list down here because it is costly and also may not be healthy or necessary. But if we wait to get all of them until we are in the States it is going to cost a lot without insurance, plus the $1010 AOS fee, so we are worried.

Anyone been in a similar situation, going through AOS process with no/few vaccinations. Which ones were required? How did they determine it?

Thank you!!!

Any competent doctor should know which on the list are age-appropriate for him. Also there's a test they can do to see which ones he's already got antibodies to or which ones he needs.

It's smart to get them at a local doctor in ES before coming to the US. My wife paid $6 for one vaccine (don't remember which) in Costa Rica but it costs $35 here. Just make sure you keep all the records, translate them into English there as well since it'll be cheaper than doing the translating here.
