Just wanted to know how are people finding out when there case has been touched. I see a lot of profiles/timelines note this information as "Touched". How do I get this information in reference to my own case? Can anyone help me.

Thanks

Cynthia

Once you have your NOA1 (I-765 Notice of Action) which will have your case number - go Here and register yourself. Each time your case is 'touched' (bar code on your file is scanned) the Last Updated date will change.

Hi Cynthia,

In order to be able to check for "touches" (which simply means USCIS has either worked on your case or it can even just mean that they have simply moved your file from one place on the adjudicator's desk to another - in other words, touches sometimes mean nothing at all) you have to register at the USCIS web site.

Here is the link: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp

Just follow the instructions there to register. By registering, you also register for email updates. Although, there are no email updates for "touches."

I hope this helps answer your question. Good luck with your process.

Touches are unimportant. Before my case was approved we never received a single "touch"

Good luck.
