hi all

i was filling out my Advance parole document and it asks you for your purpose of trip and when you plan to go. I just want to go back and visit my family and friends because I really miss everyone. Would it be okay to put this and say that my planned date of travel is asap? What is the best thing to put down in order to get approved??

Also, my greencard process was delayed bacause they lost my medical records so lord knows how long things will take now.

thanks!

what you said is fine.

If you have an RFE on your I-485 then chances are you I-131 will stall until the I-485 resumes normal processing... so clear up that ASAP

YMMV

Ya i have an appt for medical on Fri - if I get nothing from congress person by then I'll just have to bite the bullet. After your RFE's, how long did your green card take? I'm trying to decide if I should pay $300 for the Advance parole

AP is included in the $1010 fee... so there is nothing else to pay..

My son's GC processed about 3 weeks after the medical was submitted

YMMV

Similiar thing happened to us. My husband's medical papers were lost by the embassy in Paris. They didn't include them in the magic packet that can't be opened until POE. They took him back to the room and made him wait forever, then someone said he was okay and could enter. He asked if it would affect his green card application, they said no. Within the next week, he contacted the embassy in Paris and they scrambled around trying to see what went wrong, but couldn't come up with the papers. He was able to get in touch with the doctor who did the exam and she sent us two certified copies of the documents. We sent this in with our i-485 packet back in January with a supplement explaining what happened. Fast forward to today, we got AP in March, then the EAD in April (although the EAD took forever and had to have a little push from our Senator because they took their sweet time scheduling him for biometrics) but then we got an RFE for the greencard a couple weeks ago. My husband was sure it was for the medical papers, or my 2007 tax information (I couldn't file beforehand because I didn't have my W2s), but no, they said we didn't include our marriage certificate, but I'm sure they lost it cause we checked and rechecked the packet a million times and we wouldn't forget the single most import document that allows a K-1 holder to apply for a greencard. It's been touched every single day since they received our reply almost two weeks ago, so I have no idea what they're doing with it. I just hope they aren't going to decide to send us more RFEs for these other things.

Wait, is that really correct? The AP fee is included in the AOS fee of $1010? I don't have to pay the $305 AP fee? Almost sounds too good to be true...can anyone else confirm this as well? Sorry if I sound skeptical...

Common knowledge..... From the instructions to the form:

NOTE: If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on or after July 30, 2007, and you paid the I-485 application fee required, then no fee is required to file a request for Advance Parole or for a Refugee Travel Document on Form I-131. You may file the I-131 for Advance Parole or for a Refugee Travel Document concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-131 for Advance Parole or a Refugee Travel Document at a later date. If you file Form I-131 for advance parole or a refugee travel document separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid the fee for the Form I-485 required on or after July 30, 2007.

Which instructions is that from? I looked but I can't find it. Thanks.

It is definitely included. If you've paid your $1,010, you have nothing further to pay to file for AP.
