Has anyone read the Yacoubian Building? My husband works at a bookstore and brought it home for me as a gift yesterday 'cause he knows I"ve been stressing not having a new book for vacation. I love it!! The first chapter was kind of graphic sexy like but after that it gets really interesting. I love that he knows what I like in terms of reading!

We're off to the mall to do some damage!

Me and books are like me and oxygen..... Awesome that you've got a hubby that supports your addiction lol Mine just groans and rolls his eyes that the books are one day going to take over the house!

Oh he looooves books! I think he wants to stay in this job forever because seriously he's in heaven! PLus there's a starbucks in there and this week they're giving all employees free coffee. Anything free is like heaven for him! Ok now I really gotta go I"m getting looks like daggers from the peanut gallery wanting to go to the mall.

I would be in heaven as well, but not because of the free coffee.. the books!! I'd have no paycheck left or they'd find me not doing my job because I hid behind a stack of books and was reading them Back in the college days, which weren't that long ago, I was broke, not just broke, but college broke, but there was a Borders store near the Uni so I'd go there every day for like 3 hours and read books in their comfy chair - So when a new book came out or anything I wanted to read, I'd read it there daily until I finished it (I hope that's not haram like stealing - They let people do that.. Sample before you buy? I just sampled for a real long time) lol but that was mostly just with the brand new books that I couldn't find at the library....

I wanna go to the mall too!! Work sucks

I am late posting! GRR Hope everyone has an amazing day!

Last night there was crazy weather in Phoenix. It started out like a dust storm you'd see on TV from Iraq...then as I'm driving home from work (i can barely see) the rain starts...buckets are coming down...YUCK. Then I hear what sounds like rocks hitting the roof of my truck....Yep, you guessed it HAIL...the size of large marbles. LOL What a friggen ride from hell. It proceeded to rain/hail for about 30 minutes.

The funny part...Hubby calls me to see where I am and what time I will be home. He yells in excitement...are you on the road? I said Yes babe on my way home. He says, OMG do you see the SNOW!! Haha So cute...SNOW! I said baby its not snow its HAIL!! Snow doesn't hurt your head as it falls from the sky! Anyway, another new experience for him. So thats 3 now...1) Heat from Hell here (so far max he has felt is 118) 2) Scorpions in our house 3) Hail! Hmmm whats next???

Hello to all of my early friends!!!! I hope your day goes well.

I think Malek is getting sick, well think is the word he is a mystery to us. I came home and found my husband looking like an old worn out housewife yesterday. His hair was standing straight up like horns and he became wrinkly in the face. I guess a screaming baby for 4 hours and a wild 9 year old will make you old fast. Anyways, I am going to see how he is doing today and possibly take him to the doctor.

HisLittleMasriyah---Your turn is coming very soon. I feel it!!! Just think of the day that you leave Egypt to come to be with your husband. My husband said it was the most mixed emotional day he has ever faced in his life.

yay vacation is over for me... I'm back at work so I should be able to post a little bit more now lol! (funny how that works out huh?)

I got a new *toy* yesterday...A BLACKBERRY! I spent most of the afternoon yesterday trying to figure out all the bells and whistles! I even spent around 4 hours trying to get my old ringtones off my old phone transfered to the new one so now everybody gets their personal ringtones back WOOT WOOT!

Son started school yesterday and is really unhappy. They only get to use the bathroom ONCE per day... I hope that means once before lunch and once after lunch coz I know I am in the bathroom at LEAST once every 2 hours. He's on about the same bathroom schedule as I am so he'll really have issues with that. Outside of that, he should do very well ensha'allah

Jackie...I haven't talked to you in FOREVER! Let's meet soon in yahoo and catch up ensha'allah.

Same goes for all my girls that I haven't spoken to in a long time!!! Maybe it would be great to have a sandbox party soon??? I really need to catch up!

My days and nights are all uucked fup lately. I wasn't in bed till 230am and had to get up at 6...It was like this most of my vacation so I REALLY gotta get myself back on a schedule ensha'allah.

Well, It's time to get my ####### into gear and prove that I'm a worth-while employee lol! Everybody have a super fantastic day and hopefully I can play in here a while today!!!

I WAS having an ok morning, but just got yelled at by someone at work (I work in a library) by a guy who doesn't understand why he can't just "call" youtube and have something removed from their site. He just wants a phone number. Doesn't understand why you have to contact them online. Um.....they ARE a web-based company. Well, I found him the corporate addy and phone number and he seems happy. Feel sorry for whoever gets him on the phone...

My grandma is 99 3/4. She got a letter from social security today saying she need to go back to work and earn $4k more before she is eligible for social security!! (She worked for the county for 30 years so gets her pension from there, not social security). She laughed when dad read her the letter. I said, oh come on, if you get a good enough job it's only about 2 months worth. Should have it over by your birthday.

guess it just goes to show the gov't is inept in all levels, not just immigration (except the parts where charles and brnid work of course )
