Hi all,

My spouse went for his 1st interviewed on Aug. 22. In one question, When was her first trip? --- he answered: May 22. The CO asked: What year? ---- He said: 2006. He was so nervous because many people got white paper before him and he gave the CO a wrong year. It actually was 2007. And also we were introduced by his brother's who is my friend but my spouse just answer we were introduce by my brother.

The CO gave him a white sheet. My spouse had all the paper (Timeline + parents Birth Certificates) not the evidence of relative current address in US but did not give to the CO until they gave him a white sheet with a list:

Applicant:

>>> please provide the names and address of your relatives in the US. Provide evidence of current address.

>>> Please submit the original birth certificate of the beneficiary's and the petitioner's parents.

Petitioner:

>>> Please provide a detail chronology (Timeline) of your relationship. Please explain clearly...

Should I mention this problem in my Timeline or how can I deal with this? Any one please give me some advice. I just quickly make up a decision to fight over VN. I got a ticket already and will be in VN on Sat 8/30. What should I do when I'll in VN? Should I just go with my spouse to the Consular office and submit all the requirement and wait for the CO decision? or how can I talk to CO in person? I am so worry and nervous too. Please help !!!!

Thank you so much for your kindly concern.

Sorry the interview didn't go well.

You need to be prepared when you go on 8/30 with all the evidence the Consulate asked for. Do you have all of it? Any info you need from the US you should have before you leave as it will be hard to get once you'll there.

The timeline should be as complete as possible with evidence supporting any events you list, ie plane tickets, receipts, pictures, etc. You can include the interview in the timeline as it's why you're going to Vietnam.

Be prepared for the Consulate to take some time to check the addresses, etc. Many times when they ask for this extra information they check it. You should try to talk to the Consulate while you're there to make sure you're doing everything possible to get the pink slip. Also that should help them understand your relationship better.

Good Luck

I also collect all the receipts, airplan tickets, Pictures of our wedding, honeymoon, going out, etc. before I left last Dec. He had alsmost everything. I now go to VN and revise my timeline according to the white sheet list. Do I need notarize it in US?

He answer a wrong year of my first trip. Should I memtion it in the timeline? What is the great benefit answer why he gave a wrong answer? Would that cause a big prolem for us? I am so worry about this problem :(

Hi, H&H. The timeline must be notarized by a US notary public. You can do this anywhere in the US. If you decide to go to Vietnam, I suggest you get it notarized first. Once you get to vietnam, the only place you can get a us notary public is the Consulate. Not a good idea including the explanation of the mistake your husband made at the interview in the timeline. One wrong answer will not break your case. Just present all the documents they requested, you guys will be just fine.

Proof of the relatives' addresses can be copies of their ID/ driver's lisence that show the addresses. They want to be sure that none of his relatives has same address as you. It's best that you collect those copies before going to vietnam.

Good luck to you, I'll pray for you until you get the pink.

Thank you so much Kilun. I appreciate your concern and support. I am concentrate on my timeline but it takes me so long. I haven't finish it yet. This submitting additional paper is seem to be relized on this timeline since not many people were asked for a second interview. If I write my timeline not clear or hard understand American way, then we will face another difficult time. Do you know who or where can proof this timeline for me?

Thanks again.

Where do you live now? I'd assume that you live in California, either the San Fran/ San Jose or the OrangeCounty/ Los Angeles municipalities. You can have your documents notarized at one of the many Viet Service Centers where the viet people go to buy airplane tickets, file tax, send money to vietnam, buy phone cards to call vietnam etc. There is a good chance that a service center like that can write down your timeline in perfect english too. My suggestion is that you write your timeline in Vietnamese (if you can comfortably write in Vietnamese) and have it notarized then translate it to english, just have the translator affirms in there that the translator is competent and the translation is accurate.

Hi Kilun,

Thank you for your response. I already email the Consular officer concern about public notary of my timeline. They said that if I am present in HCM I don't need to notary it.

I am living tonight (CA time) I wonder as if I call CO to ask for an appointment before I go VN of should I wait just go with my husband and sumit it. Then see what happen next? Do they let me get in the waiting room with my husband while the CO review our paper addtional?

Thank you.

I e-mailed them and submitted a request to see CO in writing. They would have met with me if my fiancée didn't pass. staff will give you the run around on the phone so i would e-mail and bring a letter just in case requesting to talk to CO.

Rodney and everyone,

I am in HCMC now. Before my trip, I sent an email asking how to access to Consular building with my spouse and their schedule for next week. In reply, they said, either myself or my spouse can get in. They will closed on Spet 1 and 2 (Labor day and VN Independent day).

Do you think that I should get in instead of my spouse? I also note in my timeline in the conclusion that I am presented in the building with my spouse. And would happy to answer any question they may have. Also the timeline DO NOT need to notary if I am in HCMC.

Thanks veryone in advance for all your concern and kindly input.
