Hello All:

My wife and I just got married - we are expecting a baby February 14, 2009. However, she has 2 existing children but one of the children has close ties to another family and they prefer that this child follow us over after maybe 2 years. Can this be done easily ??? Are there any issues ??? Is the processing time about the same as an I-130 for a spouse (10 months) ??? Thank you.

The chid you are expecting would most likely qualify for US Citizenship, so needs a US passport, not a visa.

A K4 can follow to join but only within one year, not two.

Posting in the K3 visa forum and asking K3 questions pretty much assures the foreign spouse is not already in the USA. There are exceptions, of course.
