Hey, I was reading the USCIS website and I noticed that the HPV vaccine is now required for adjustment of status applicants, and I was wondering, on my vaccination record that I got from my K-1 medical, it only says one date under "date recieved" for HPV and then "completed series" is checked. Will they make me go and get the shots again or should this be okay?

If I need to get them again, how can I do this if my husband and I don't have insurance or a DR? (husband is a student, doesn't have a job at the moment, he never goes to the DR either, usually goes to the clinic if he is ill) Can I just go to a clinic and talk to thier drs? not sure how that works here.

Thanks for any help :)

There was a modification to the vaccination requirements late in July which took effect the 1st of August. Call the USCIS, but for the vaccination I believe you must get them at Civil Surgeon designated by the USCIS. That cause they must fill out the vaccination form I-693 give you a sealed copy and a copy for you.

You can actually get vaccinations at your local health department (county or parish). They are often offered at lower cost than through a civil surgeon. A sliding scale payment system is often in use, depending on the health department. A vaccination completed and recorded properly at a health department or any medical provider in the US is perfectly acceptable. The civil surgeon just needs to verify and transcribe the record. If you are in doubt as to what you need, take your vaccination records and a print out of the civil surgeon's vaccination requirements to your health department. They can also look up the current requirements, because they work closely with the CDC.

Local health departments can save you a lot of money and offer an array of services, so it's worth everyone's time to become familiar with what the one in your area offers. Vaccinations are at the top of their list, as they are second only to clean water and an adequate food supply as the top public health successes in history.
