Fool i've been waiting twice as much as you..

Shpat. Sory to hear that... SO why are you mad at me??? What did I do; but ask a question that in some why has offended you?

Have you contacted your congress person or layer yet?

Read my post again... I don't think I'm a fool for asking the questons....

Why is VSC so slow???

Would you (you being everyone here reading this post) pay a rush fee if it meant you got processed faster?

I've contacted, 2 senators, 1 congressman, Obdusmans office, Director of USCIS, made 2 formal complaints against VSC at Department of Homeland security. Talked to Supervisor overseeing Vermonts processing and 2 supervisors at vermont. Where has it gotten me? Please look at my countdown for more infor ;)

Good work. I am relay happy and proud to hear that your taking things in your own hands and running with them.

Your making an effort to move your self ahead in this process instead of sitting on your hands. However it's sad to hear that nothing has come from it yet...

I just hope someone you contacted will do the right thing and help someone whom is trying to help them-self.

Good Luck and I hope you and everyone else gets approved soon.

The reason I waited to file is that I moved back here to the U.S. from Japan to helped start up a new Advertising firm. My wife and I wanted to wait to be sure it would not fail. Also, so that I had a good income for the I-864 AOS.

So after I / we felt the company was doing well and my income was where it should be for my position in the company. I / we filed our I-130.

Ok.. At least now we know.. Anyway, just hang in there.. Waiting part is kinda frustrating.. See how some people in here have been through.. Our time of approval will come.. We just need to wait.. Like you, the question of reason behind VSC slow aprroval is also in our heads. If you could find time to visit your wife, it would be good.. My husband is coming over this October.. At least we could spend some time together in between the painstaking visa process..

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

David, I didnt needed to read the whole thread and understanding the frustration that you going through. That feeling you got of how close you were of getting the approval if those transfers wouldnt have happened is painful. Its a different kind of frustration that the VSC filers went through. Atleast they had the trend that its going to take a while. Here on our side we saw all those approvals happening left and right in a month for june and july filers made us sure we would be out by end of august. I dont find many people in our boat because most of people are approved who filed a week before me and rest people are very recent filers.

Any VSC filer would think we are whining but hopefully they understand this feeling like how close we came to be approved and now our line just got 3 months longer just like that. I would be happy that al these transfer cases keep getting approved on a faster rate which they are happening while they can also approve atleast 1 or 2 CSC filers cases at the same time. I have not seen a single approval for CSC filers for last 10 days while there has been more than 10 transfer cases approved in same amount of days. Funny thing is we were sympathizing with the VSC people and when they just cut into our line and we just raised a concern they start being quite uncivilised. I almost feel like one statement I read by one VSC filer saying 'everytime a CSC filer getting approved in a month is like a stab in the back', I dont believe in superstitions but I think we got jinxed after that.

Another thing I will point out that when there was an opposite trend going on earlier this year and sometime last year when VSC was processing faster than CSC they did not transfer any cases from CSC to VSC. We are just raising our concern about our cases in a civilsed way so I would expect all the VSC filer to just be respectful of others and have an argument in a respectful manner. Thank you

Those four letters say it all. We did NOT cut into your line. It wasn't your line for one thing. It is OUR line. I'm paying taxes just like everyone else who has applied for their spouse or loved one. FIFO by class of petition is the rule and they are finally going by the rule.

Further, they approved my case within 19 days of receipt. And they touched the petition something like 5 times. That's probably not a whole heck of a lot of any one adjudicator's work schedule. They're cranking through the transfers.

So where you get that this has put you back 3 months (or any estimate for that matter) I don't know. But you are making up the numbers. We have no way of knowing how many transfers there were or how long it will take to adjudicate them but we do know that from the sample on VJC that they are moving the adjudications along quickly. And, we also know that those who filed last year DESERVE to be approved before those who filed more recently.

Yeah, it is a drag that there are limited resources. And your expectations were thwarted. It is reasonable that you would be disappointed. But anything more than disappointed is being selfish and unfair. I've watched people on this site for a while now and there are some good people who have been waiting an unreasonable amount of time to be through with JUST THIS PORTION of the process. They've more than earned the right to be processed in a fair manner.

As a matter of fact, CSC did transfer their cases to VSC when this was happening. That's what started VSC slowing down. It's just the way it goes and we all just happen to be along for the ride.

I will say it again like I've said it before...keep a general timeline in your head of 6 months and, typically, you won't be disappointed. Unless, of couse you're at VSC and your case has been with USCIS for longer. But, for you CSC filers, I think this is a pretty decent timeline to keep in mind.

I know it's got to be frustrating to see that approval so close and not be able to reach it, but don't be too harsh with us VSC filers. I, for example, have been living without my husband for 6 months...many have been living without their spouses for even longer; and, even though we knew that VSC was the slower center, we still held hope that it would speed up so that we could be reunited with our loved ones again in the same manner as those at CSC. And, honestly, it did feel like a little jab in the gut everytime a CSC case was approved for someone who filed 4 or 5 months after me. For some, they were seeing cases approved that were filed 6 or 7 months after them. Please don't discount our suffering and I won't discount yours.

From the looks of it, I'm guessing that those who were displaced are set back by no more than 1 month. More like 3 weeks.

I entered this process with the idea that it would take 10 months from stem to stern. It has taken that long just to get through USCIS. Imagine that kind of disappointment. I had reasonable expectations. I'm not sure that the people who were expecting a 3 month turnaround on their I-130s had reasonable expectations because anything can happen along the way. RFEs, interviews, changes in priorities at the centers...

Now imagine the elation to finally see some movement after nearly 10 months of waiting and being completely helpless, wondering if they were going to do anything to make things right...

We aren't stealing from anyone. We're getting fair treatment. And so are you. That's all anyone can ask for.

Well put - like I said in another post awhile back it would be ideal if all I-130s were processed at one center, that way it would be strictly FIFO and you wouldn't see this gross disparity between one service center and another - those of us who have been transferred have been waiting at least 6 months, many for much longer and we deserve to be approved ahead of those who have been waiting for only 1-3 months, it's only fair and honestly I would say the same thing if the situation were reversed and I were not now benefitting from the transfer - I have waited long enough!!!!.

There is no need to srgue among any of us. I am sure that the reason that CSC got so many files from VSC is to even out the timeline between both places. It is what it is and I think that is fair. That way one does not get so far ahead of the other. just remember we did not get to pick our service center. Come on we a team quit letting the service center cause a problem between us. I changed my timeline to have VSC as my service center again. I don't want the time it took for me to get approved to incorrectly skew the CSC estimates for others.

BTW, I don't think we're arguing as much as we are stating our positions and feelings. If everyone is respectful, I don't see that being honest about the feelings and feelings about the feelings (and feelings about the feelings about the feelings) is a big deal.

Atleast this humor makes the argument better. Also I would take the 'cutting in line' phrase back, I was just bit upset by the ill remarks made in response to David's frustration which I share as well.

I was wondering what to put in my timeline now - I changed it to CSC but maybe I should change it back to VSC - didn't think of it that way. The day I was transferred I changed it and my timeline said I should have been approved back in May, now it's saying '8 August - 26 October'. I'll change it back so it doesn't skew the CSC average.

When I suggested everyone change to CSC I didn't think about what it would do to the estimates. And there's really no good way to include our numbers in the CSC data without it appearing to be worse than it really is. Without us I'd suggest that CSC folks add 3 weeks to the estimates that are given by VJ. And over time the data will right itself.

But if we leave our numbers in, the estimates will be far longer than reality. I mean, that could be good because people will be pleasantly surprised, but I don't think it helps planning. (Not that you can bank on the estimates of course.)

Sigh...

I know I should not feel this way but.......

This month on the 8th, the 9th and then the 12th. I got some touches, I checked my VJ 'time line' on my profile and it was saying that I should be approved by Sept. 28 - Oct 10th 2008 Needless to say I was happy and content thinking it would not be much longer...

Now since all the transfers from the VSC office to the CSC office my VJ 'time line had my approval date as March 2009.... so that just added 6 more months since all the transfers..

Please don't get me wrong... I am in no way mad at you the other filers... I am frustrated with this system and how slow it is.. I read the post from the ex-immigration worker (some of you I'm sure read, if not click here.) that a typical I-130 form takes about 15-20 min to approve.. so why is VSC so slow..

Is it all the FBI background checks? Communications with foreign country's? or just not enough employees?

I said it before and I'll say it again... I would be willing to pay a higher fee for them to higher more people or I would be willing to pay a "rush" fee to get this done faster...

Would anyone else be willing to pay more for a 'rush' or higher fees so they could hire more people? Or what about this.. Heir people whom have gone through the process them self. Maybe things would move a bit faster..
