My fiance is planning to get a new job around Dec. Right now, he is mainly doing free lance job, so he does not really have any way to prove how much he makes. As soon as our petition is approved, though, we were planning on him getting a job " with a paycheck" so that we can use that for the I134. Does it make a difference that his job will be "so recent?"

His previous employer (before the freelance) is hard to reach in order to get a letter stating that he was working there before and for how long (a paid internship), so we were planning on just counting on the new job he will get in Dec and if needed a cosponsor.

Is that enough?

2nd question: does the 125% poverty line have to be before taxes or after??

1) an employment letter from the previous employer does nothing... current employment with current proof of income (pay stub) goes a long ways.

2) gross income

YMMV
