Hi

Im very frstrated and disappointed right now with a feeling of hopelessness!!! Our situation was the same as a previous post.. we were given our firt interview date for 04 AUG 2008 but that was cancelled and we were given a new date of 18 AUG 2008 at 0800. My fience arrived at 0700 and waited to be called, she was called to window #6 she said the interviewer asked all the normal questions ie when we met, were we met, how many time Ive been there to see her and if we were planning to get married. After the interview she was told and given an appointment to pick up her visa @ 3pm on 20rAUG2008. she went home finished packing and said her goodby's and returned to bangkok. When she arrived she waited for her name to be called she went to the window and a Thai man told her the Embassy would be in contact with her, they didn't say when or how long. I tried to contact them to findout more info to see if she should wait in Bangkok or go back home but had no luck I've emailed the visa unit and I;ve not heard back yet. Frustrated with the lack of communication I went to my congressmans office to see if the could findout anything for us. They called me today and said all the Embassy said was that the case was still in adminastrative review (what the heck does that mean) (and why would they tell her to come back on 20 AUG 2008 @3pm to pick up the visa if there were issues)So we have just been left hanging not knowing what to do or expect or how long its going to take!!! this is just CRUSHING, like my fieance said "its like they handed me a piece of candy and then took it away". any thoughts or comments would be grat. I need a shoulder!!

Hi hilton. I am very sorry for what happened. That really sucks. It's really sad with all the smoke screening and lack of communication from people whi are involved in getting this thing over and done with. I understand your frustration. I just hope they'd get this thing cleared up soon. Keep the faith. Don't give up.

Oh my, what a run around! Sometimes name and investigative checks aren't completed prior to the beneficiary's interview. At that time usually the beneficiary is told that checks have to be completed, and that either they're in AP (Administrative Processing), or simply just told they're doing a name check. Oft times they're told they will be contacted when to return for their visa, or when to send in their passport. It looks like in this case, they thought maybe they'd be done by the 20th, and that's why they had her come back then. I'm so sorry that this wasn't the case!

You might want to check out other Thai couples and see if there has been similar issues, and what their solutions were. You could contact your Senator, or Congressman. You can email or phone the Embassy. I hope you hear something very soon, at least so that you know how much longer you will be waiting!

Another thing...did they give to your fiance anything in writing or a form after her interview on the 18th?
