Hello,

For the past year and a half I have been living in Macedonia. I was also recently married here to a Macedonian citizen. I have citizenship here as well as in the US being that I was born in the US. I have an appointment this week in the US embassy in Skopje to file an immigrant visa petition (I-130). Back to the topic, I have legally changed my last name to my husbands name here in Macedonia but in my US documents (passport, drivers license, bank statements) I have nothing documented in my married name. How should I approach filling out the forms?... with my maiden name or my married name? I definetly do not want to be sent back for having forms improperly filled out.. Does anyone know what is the most accurate thing to do? Thanks for the help

I would use the married name and document the name change with marriage certificate and any additional name change documentation you have. You may wish to wait until you return to the USA to change the name in your passport and elsewhere. You may also be able to accomplish it from abroad.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Use the marriage lisence they gave you with the name change and birth certificate as well

(izvod od maticna kniga na rodenite) they should not give you any problems.
