Here's the million dollar question: what do we do now? My wife will be here in about 10 days with her CR-1 visa. We'll get her Social Security Number and a job as a nurse at the hospital. I know in 90 days we do an adjustment of status??? Is there another interview in the states? Medical exam? Where can I go on this site to see all the steps we need to take to finish everything here.

Thanks!

With CR-1 nothing to do for two years until you file for the 10-year green card. Just be sure and keep your address up to date if you move. If you checked the box for them to issue your wife her SSN, you should get it in a couple of weeks.

There's no need to adjust status for CR1 cases. AOS are for K visas.

Your wife will probably receive her green card by mail in 2 to 3 weeks. Also, if you checked yes on your application, your wife will probably receive her SS card too by mail in about 2 to 3 weeks.

If she checked off on the Form DS-230 that she wanted to be assigned an SSN, she will need to give it three weeks to receive the SSN card. If she doesn't receive it by then she needs to go into a Social Security office or card center to see what's the problem.

If she has been assigned an SSN the office can provide her with the number. However, it is has been over 14 days from the day the SSN was assigned and she hasn't received the card she will probably need to apply for a replacement card.

Take proof of age, identity and work authorized alien status. Proof of age is not needed for a replacement card.

Birth certificate, passport and I-551 card or MRIV with temporary I-551 language should be enough to take into the SSA office.
