i would think the only reason why one would fail, is if they have psychological problems or don't have their shots up-to-date. I could be wrong though. >,<

Well, you would get your shots done at the medical if you didn't have them before hand...so that wouldn't be a problem either. my bad. :P

Hi everyone

Im new here so bare with me and please guide/help me where to get replies and everything.

Anyway.. this website is so kool coz you get all these information but sadly i didnt get the answer that im trying to find. I hope someone can help me.

With the forums that i have been reading its says that you go to St lukes to have a 2 day medical clearance. Is there a way to go there more than 2 days?

Also how much does the medical cost?

Kasi my dad had his medical last week. And he said that he had to repeat his ECG kasi his blood pressure was high. Had anyone had this situation before?

As far as i know kasi once you have the 2 day medical, whatever the results are.. thats what you will submit to the immigration.

Then he said, he had submitted his NBI clearance and Medical clearance to the immigration but he has to do more test (i think physical test for his cholesterol of some sort) for the clinic to clear his medical?

Has anyone had this situation before? And pwede ba yon? Dont you have to clear all your check-up before submitting it to the immigration office?

Anyone? please help?!

Many thanks :luv:

Hi mizshelle! People are pretty helpful, but we need to know what you're applying for. :time: And we can help you better. :) Also, if you're looking for specific information for your area, check out the regional forums. The process is slightly different at each embassy/doctor. Good luck!

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

I did my medical a few days ago...

I got there as early as I could in the morning and filled out the medical history form. I also had 3 passport sized pictures, the appointment letter and my immunization records.

First they called me into a room where they weighed, measured and took my blood pressure. Then they sent me to do a blood test and get a chest xray. I took the xray back to the office and handed it to the nurse. A while later she took my papers into the doctors office and then I was called in. He looked at my papers and asked me a few questions then had me do a short eye exam. He made me get down to the bare essentials where he did a short physical exam. Then I got dressed and he wrote down some more stuff on some forms. Smiled at me, handed me back some stuff and told me to give it to the front desk. She took it from me and told me I had to go into a room to get vaccinations. Turns out I only needed one. I got it and when I went back out she told me to call on tuesday to see if the report is ready and I can go and pick it up. The exams themselves were very quick and minimal pain (I hate needles!) but along with the waiting time I was there about 3.5-4 hours. Sucks...but glad it's done. :)

One thing that can derail you is being required to do a "Sputum" test. They are very concerned about TB and if the X-Ray shows any sort of abnormality your fiancee/wife will be required to go back in about a week for a Sputum test. The test takes 3 days, but the worst part is that the results take 8 weeks. I know this because my fiancee had to have this test done & instead of her arriving in September we are looking at November (best case). She shows no signs at all of having TB so it is very likely a false alarm.

This is the second delay we've faced (the other was administrative) and instead of an original June/July arrival it will be at least November now. I am beyond upset about this process & it has placed an unnecessary strain on both of our lives.

Mine was in Canada, it was fast and they were very professional. Checked my height, weight, medical history, took a blood sample, I didn't have the tetanus shot so they gave me that one, eye test, screening for breast cancer and the Xrays, the doctor was a super nice guy, he did tell me he had to "make sure" I was a lady, so he did take a quick look if you know what I mean, I told him I had my period and he said it was ok. That was a little embarrassing but the "look" was a split second and the guy was incredibly professional and nice, so it was fine.
