VJ is a forum. It isn't offering anything but what we put here. I think it would be successfully defended if you were willing to go to battle. The biggest problem tends to be intimidation which is one way that people "win" by default. They don't expect you to be willing to fight. Once they see you are serious, they have to weigh how much they are willing to put into it and sometimes they're not as serious as they appear. They want to scare you into submission.

While VJ is a forum, it also publishes GUIDES and a WIKI on Immigration.

It condones if not advocates the sharing of information about navigating a legal process.

If it were only a forum or bulletin board, it would be less susceptible to claims of practicing law.

It's not about intimidation, and I don't think that by changing to a foreign internet provider for VJ, that's any sign of submission.

I would say there's a small possibility that VJ could win in either a civil lawsuit or a criminal suit for practicing law in the US.

However, it would still cost thousands of dollars to win such a suit, there would most likely be no recourse to recover the money spent

for representation, and it might require the site to be offline during the proceedings...which would obviously have an adverse effect

toward the goal of helping people with family based immigration.

You do realize (and this is important for ALL married people) that some battles are won by avoiding them.

It's been said that it takes a bigger man to avoid a fight than to get into one.

And it's important that all those in America realize, the justice system is more about the "system" than it is about "justice".

If it makes any of you feel better, Ring Ring left for Japan yesterday :(

She has more packing to do, and traditionally visits with her parents for the New Year.

Felt really good when she checked in and they were looking for her I-94 and asked "are you a resident?".

We had a GREAT time at home. Didn't do a lot, but enjoyed every minute.

Ring Ring likes video games a lot. One night we played one game on the PS3 for about 10 hours.

I miss you hunni bunni :)

I am happy to join all August approvals. My NOA2 was on 12/29/08. Of course NVC does not have the case yet. I will update when NVC has the case number. Until then, Happy New Year.

Happy New Years

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Happy New Year everyone!

Hubby and I have been very busy settling back in to married life and now have our hands full with our new puppy Cole:

Puppies007.jpg

The dust of the immigration process is settling, but I'm still waiting on the cards. I finally got to the social security office to apply for my SSN on Dec 23, and its a good thing because they had no record of me even though the box for it was checked on the DS-230. The guy said that if it had been processed I would have been given something at the POE (I forget the technical name of it though). POE gave me nothing but my passport back. Still waiting for the actual card to arrive.

On Dec 30 my welcome letter arrived with a print date of Dec 19 (1 week after POE, but took forever to actually get here). Yesterday I added the letter's receipt number to my portfolio in USCIS's case status section to see if it came up. It showed up as OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION with the last touch on Dec 31 and indicated an approval on Dec 30, so I'm wondering if that means the green card printing was on this day. But we'll see!
