Ling Ling, Happy that at last you were able to send your doc. in today. You guys are back on the track.

Keep it up

Thanks Nimche, it feels good...but now it feels even worse that we don't have the PCC...we'd be D-O-N-E.

As far as when do Case Workers work....it's my understanding (from a brief conversation with an operator)

that they do data entry up until Midnight EST. That said, I don't know about the structure there. I mean (for the basis of CR-1 visas)

most of them are basically just data entry...other than doing data entry and remedial review of documents, I don't know how much

actual "Work" they do on our cases. The job of NVC isn't really adjudication, but processing. USCIS actually has officers that do adjudication of your petition.

The Embassy does the final adjudication on your application. The NVC is more of a secretarial pool in my view.

This is for your wife, you don't need to get one man.

She is the intending immigrant and she needs to go to local police (in Albania) and ask for the PCC.

I'm the petitioner in this case i'm in Maryland, United States, will this be a big problem trying to get the PCC still?

Looks like it'll be a pretty big problem for YOU to get the PCC, but not your spouse.

Anyone that needs to know PCC requirements can go to

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3272.html

After you've entered your country, you'll have to scroll down to see how to obtain PCC.

Not all countries have PCC...DOS knows this.

For Albania...

Police Records

Currently, to obtain a criminal document from the District Attorney's office concerning pending and final criminal and civil cases, one needs to go to the District Attorney's office in the district of their residence, present an ID and pay the necessary fee.

To obtain a document from the District Court concerning any active court cases, one needs to go to the District Court office in one's district of their residence, present and ID and pay the necessary fee.

To obtain a criminal court certificate from the Office of Judicial Status, one needs to go to the Office of Judicial Status in Tirana from Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., present an ID and pay the necessary fee.

Police Records

Available. Police certificates (Vertetim/Potvrda/Certificate) may be obtained from the local offices of the Kosovo Police Service (Sherbimi Policor i Kosoves) at the municipality where the person resides. The police certificate will usually document whether the person has a criminal background and if there are any records in the police database. This record check was previously available from the UNMIK Criminal Data Unit (CDU) however this function was shifted to the local police service following Kosovo independence.

The police certificates are issued with limited information and they cover only the period from 1999 to the date of the request. This certificate should not be confused with the certificates issued by the courts (Vertetimi nga Gjygji/Sudsko uverenje) that cover only the period of the past six months and indicate the absence of any investigation, charge or conviction in that period.

Thanks Nimche, it feels good...but now it feels even worse that we don't have the PCC...we'd be D-O-N-E.

Thanks for the help.

My case is the worst one. My wife is from Iran and she lived in Turkey for 14 months and now we need to get one. I called the Turkish consulate, they said it takes about 3 months for them to get it. Now, We have a nagotiatian with a lawyer that we know in Turkey to do this and after all the bargains he is down to $500 and he promised that he will do it in less than 72 hours from when he receive the paper works.

My wife could go to Turkey and get the stuff but it would cost here more than $500 and + I don't want her to go alone.

So I think I am going to end up spending that money and get the PCC. I may curse these suckers

You have every right to curse those suckers.

In the end, $500 is really cheap. On your 20th wedding anniversary, you won't even remember this and when you do, you'll laugh.

I mean, I can already tell that you're a hard worker...and hard workers can always make more money.

But none of us can make more time, and it's TIME away from our spouses that they're stealing from us.

I swear, after many years going thru this process we have came to conclusion that you better pay and get less stress . At least you will live healthy and either ways you will end-up paying them anyway. You better pay by your will, instead of being forced to pay.

Ling Ling, you are the crown of this thread, Of course after CHD. God bless you guys.

Nah, Shpat knows where to go, he just can't change it because Kosovo doesn't exist in the pull-down options.

VJ hasn't recognized Kosovo as a country. Kind of like Tom Hanks in Terminal. A man without a country :)

Shall we start a petition for VJ to recognize the Independent Country of Kosovo?
