This is good. This is the best part of the movie where we get done with this process. I know, I know, we are still waiting for Nicole and Shpat (where the heck you are?) but we are almost there together.

What would I do without the SSN? :crying:

and me! and me!!! dont forget me!

Ling Ling... .how are things going????

Master Rajaa,

words can not explain how happy I am to have Ring Ring home.

We've been very fortunate that she's been able to visit at home over the last year,

so a lot of the stuff she wanted done to the house is done, or ready to be completed.

Bathroom remodeled, bedroom remodeled. Early next year we're putting in new carpeting,

and a hardwood floor in the bedroom. We just replaced the humidifier we bought last year....

the new one is filterless, but requires daily AND weekly maintenance, so we may be going

back to the filter style. Ring Ring has new casual boots for playing in the snow...and that's it.

We went to the Social Security office today. The lady seemed pretty grumpy.

At first she didn't want to take the application in Ring Ring's married name.

She was insisting on seeing the marriage certificate...then we showed her the endorsement page

in Ring Ring's passport where it indicated that her name was changed to her married name.

So they took the application, and gave us a sort of receipt/letter saying that she should receive

the card in 2 to 3 weeks.

So....I'm guessing it's not as autoMagic of a process as we'd like to have thought.

Perhaps in the past "they" ordered the SS card, but Ring Ring was given an info sheet at POE,

and told to take care of it on her own.

sounds like things are going well and as if you two have never been apart..... :star:

I am noticed that VJ has given me a nice little heart today therefore I will leak some more of the information and tell you what else is going on:

So I told you that I recieved the Welcome Letter, there is one number which is the case number and starts with SRC, you can simply plug that into USCIS.GOV website and check on the status of your case.

In our case, it says that they just have ordered the GC on Dec. 12th which is 4 days after the date on this letter and I think we should recieve it sometimes this week.

So GC is coming but no SSN and I am MAD!

Congrats on your heart Nimster.

So tell us about this SRC number. I've seen very little mention of it.

Were you able to figure out the actual numbers, or is it completely foreign?

Any other info on your new case number?

Im leaving the house to go to JFK in 20 mins

in 24 hours.....

24:20:38

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Any other info on your new case number?

Well,

NEWS:

Mimche and Mr. Nimche went to SS Office today. THey said that they have no record, therefore we submitted a new application. He said it will take two weeks in order for you to recieve the card but you can get your number in two or three days. So I guess we will be going to SS Office again on Friday as she want to get her DL on Monday.

SRC is for Texas Service Center ( I don't have any idea why its not TSC) but its for Texas speciall Dept.

When you get your Welcome letter, on the left upper corner you will see the applicant case number. You can plug than number into this website USCIS Case Status Check and it will tell you where is the application. In our case it says that they have ordered the GreenCard to be made. And I think it should be here sometimes this week.

I am not sure, if everyone's case goes to Texas Service Center for processing but I don't thinkg if it goes anywhere else.

Peace.

Beneficiaries, please go to your local Social Security office second week after your arrival to the US and make sure they have ordered your new number otherwise you should do it by yourself.
