Hi everybody,

I am already in the U.S., I arrived on November 16th 2008.

I would like to share my POE experience with you.

My POE was PHOENIX, Arizona.

I got off the plane and went to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. There were 2 sections – for U.S. Citizens and Residents, Foreign Nationals.

I was told to go to the Foreign Nationals section. Unfortunately, only 4 counters were opened at the Foreign Nationals section, so there was a huge line. I waited about ONE HOUR before it was my turn to speak to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer. I handed him the brown envelope and my passport and told him I had an immigrant visa. He opened my passport, checked my immigrant visa and then told me to follow him.

We went to an immigration office, there were about 4 other people waiting. I was told to sit down in a waiting room. After 30 minutes I was called to the counter. The immigration officer handed me my passport and was smiling all the time. He apologized for the long wait and told me welcome to the U.S. He did not ask any questions, took a fingerprint of my right index finger and I signed an application for a green card. The officer mentioned my green card should arrive in mail in one or two months. The officer also gave me a document with information about removing the conditions of residence in 2 years.

That was all, I went to baggage claim to pick up my suitcases and rushed to meet my hubby.

I am still in Berlin. Counting days for Mimche's PEO day.

I have 1.5 hour to waste at POE and I hope they will handle it fast. Forget to mention, they didn't ask anything as of proof of our relationship. I mean after four years and a half, they couldn't do anything more.

I am sure you guys are doing fine and everything is awesome here since a nice couples are taking care of us. Ling Ring.

I wish you guys to have a wonderful rest of the week and I will try to show up more offten. I have a lot to catch up in school since I missed two straight week.

Guess what!!!! he finally booked his doctor's appointment! whooooooot!!!! Dec 4th as of today only 3 weeks to go until his interview....

Gosh guys happy endings are all around us.

We are flying back to the US tomorrow. Everything should be fine and I hope that 1.5 hour of layover in NY will be enough for POE processing.

Bride is happy and ready. Finally our vacation is over and Monday will be a new day for me after the past 4.5 years. We are so happy and greatful for this.

I guess next time I will report from SD.

We will see.

I have one last question that I just tought about it.

In plane when we are coming back, they will hand two cards to be filled out. One is for custom and second for I-94. I know that she doesn't need to fill I-94 but I was just going to make sure.

do not feel alone shredgal, my paper work is on what they call clearance hold in China will take 2-3 months before they open then set interview. I was aware of this in the beginning so my wait is not as bad . they use only 1 consulate for all of China so they are always 2-4 months behind

well, I am PRAYING for a january date. We know a person a month ahead of us that still doesnt have a date either...who knows!

I understand that not having an interview date makes

you more worried, but that's why this Visa Journey community

is up here.

I think whoever already got VISA get busy to move on

to the next step, moving into the States, and don't

access this site.

But we never forget about our friends here.

I had my interview in Tokyo, I know we are under

different situation, but, we can share how to deal with

NVC at least. My husband Ling Ling taught me how

to speak to them on the phone when I had to inquire...

You're not alone!! They told me to call again on Friday to finally know my interview date... AGHHH, I'm so mad !!! I'll be alone this Xmas...

I know.. last Christmas I went there and this we just cant afford it. Yesterday was hubby's birthday and that was a sad time. haha
