I received the K-3 package from the U.S. Embassy in Prague today.

I also made an appointment for medical for September 16.

We weren´t able to get our NVC case number for I-130 yet. My husband keeps calling but they won´t give it to him.

As a mater of fact, they didn´t give him the NVC case number for K-3 visa as well, but it arrived in the mail on Friday last week.

The trouble is both our petitions (I-130, I-129F) were approved at thi same time from USCIS. The NVC is slow on processing the I-130 but processed the I-129F (K3) very fast.

What should we do?

Well, they are not fast or slow but there are much work to finish the I-130 and you will enter the US with GC instead of Non-immigrant visa(K3).

Second, if you got NOA2 on 18 (I got it on 22) so your case should be enetered into the NVC system and you can get your case number from Automated System and no need to talk to a live person.

Even I kind of like the idea of getting here faster, but "I" would stick with IR1/CR1 visa instead of K3. You should wait for other's suggestions.

Good luck

Hi Im a lil stuck & would appreciate help.

Ive looked at Loto's guidance but Im not exactly clear about this. Ive got my NVC case number but they wont give me the IIN number. I guess this means I have to wait for the hardcopy to proceed with fee payment? However can I send the DS-3032 email before we get/pay the bill?

Sorry I know this is probably a stupid question, but Im being careful as Im aware we should not be sending things to NVC before they request it.

They usually do give you a hard time when you call for the IIN. It took me 8 tries to get it, and took Ling Ling over 30, I believe. You just have to keep calling and calling and calling until someone gives it to you. When you call simply ask for your invoice identification number. When they tell you the online payment system isn't working/open to the public/whatever, tell them you know this but just want the number for your records. If they says they're not allowed/able to give it to you, or that its not generated yet, don't argue (it won't get you anywhere). Just thank them, hang up, and try again.

The DS-3032 can be sent in as soon as its generated. You do not need to wait for the hard copy, or for the AOS fee bill to be paid. You can either email it per Loto's guide, or mail it per James' Shortcuts. To mail it you will need to generate a barcode to stick on the form in the appropriate place. If you absolutely can't get the IIN, then you can also generate an AOS Fee Bill using James' Shortcuts to send in right away, rather than waiting for it to arrive in the mail if you want.

CHD is right...don't argue...just hangup and try again. If they say no...no matter what logic you use (telling them it's for your records only...or that you know the system is working) they will not change their minds. You just have to be diligent and keep calling...day, night, early morning, late evening...until you get that ONE soul that will give you the number without hesitating.

Have a look here...

It may post some light onto what's going on at NVC.

As for the K-3, it just gets touched at NVC and goes onto the Embassy. In a few weeks the beneficiary will receive a K-3 information package.

We had lots of activity this weekend.

Her - received K-3 package...will try to set interview date in Oct. (which we hope to change to CR-1 interview)

Her - made appointment for medical.

Him - received AOS Fee Bill (already paid online including IV Fee Bill).

If we can just get the AOS and IV packages out...things will be great.

So.....anyone wondering if it's a good idea to pursue the K-3 and CR-1 at the same time..."hell to the yes".

In our situation, everything has been paid, but because we're waiting for the Police Clearance Certificate, there's

no way we'll be able to send in the IV package until at least Sept. 13th (meaning it will arrive express on the 15th).

Speculating that it will take 5 to 10 days for review of the DS-230, we would be past the typical schedule window for the following month.

*They seam to schedule between the 15th and 20th for the following month's interviews.

So THAT means that if we wait for NVC to set the appointment after case complete, we're probably looking at November at the erliest.

Since we have the K-3 package ready to go (but we're not really going to use it) we can go ahead and reserve an Oct. interview date.

Hope everyone had a safe and joyous holiday.

Thats awsome !

I got NVC's phone number on speed dial now and plan to resume my quest for our IIN tomorrow...I won't have her PCCs, birth cert and signed DS-230 til Sep. 7th so in the meantime I need to squeeze that IIN out of a live rep. and get the fees paid...still waiting for IRS transcripts too...

on a second note, I have an update for the spreadsheet, I emailed the DS3032 and got the auto response...I hope everyone had good weekend, I personally can't wait for it to end...lol...

Right on Lars,

Believe me...I'm sure WE are not the only ones with NVC on their speed dial.

If you don't already, you'll know all the prompts, and you'll know that after you select 5, if you hear the woman in Spanish, you're getting bumped out. :-)

The ONLY way to get your IIN is to keep trying. Day, night, morning, whenever you think about it. After over 30 attempts, I was ready to give in the towel,

but knowing that sooooo many people here are able to get it,....I just kept calling.

SUCKS where we're at now...can't blame the US government because WE don't have PCC yet.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday. Hope the next one's with your loved one.

Thank you

Pay stubs go with AOS package (I-864)

I'll be sending copies of everything with my I-864.

IV Package (DS-230) will get original BC and translation along with sealed PCC

And NIMCHE...thanks again for starting this thread. I think I had inadvertently credited CHD with the thread....whereas you created the thread,

and she created the SPREADSHEET. What a great effort between the two of you. SOME good is coming out of this process,

I've regained my faith in people working together to help each other...without promises of money or fame.

So you think copy will do thejob? Do you mind if I ask you why haven't you send your AOS package? You seem to be ready.

Cheers

Do you mind if I ask you why haven't you send your AOS package? You seem to be ready.

I'm self-employed...income is more than sufficient, but ask any business owner, and they will tell you that sometimes looking at a Schedule C and seeing a loss or modest gains, may not tell the whole story of the business. Therefore I'm waiting for a letter from my mortgage company so I can add our house as an asset. Over $100K in equity should avoid any questions about support capability....plus since we can't send in the DS-230 until we get the PCC (around Sept 12th) if I send the AOS out this week it won't slow anything down.

Note on Assets...you only receive $1 credit for every $3 of asset value. Therefore $100K in equity gets you $33K in credit toward the 125% of the poverty guideline for your family situation.

Second, did you waive the signature?

I would call the NVC first thing in the morning and ask how they handle missed deliveries like this. If they don't indicate that they would arrange for redelivery or pickup, then call whoever you sent it through and try your best to get them to make another delivery attempt during normal business hours on your request. Don't freak out yet, hon...one of those two calls are likely to ease your mind. (L)

Your update has been added. :)

CHD I see that you are the first and only one who has sent DS-230 package already, could you tell me if you submitted the original pay stubs or copies of them.

Thank you

We sent copies of the pay stubs for both my hubby and our co-sponsor.

Hi All! Back to computer from short weekend escape. Have good and not so good news.

Good news -my IV bill shows as Paid, so can mail my DS230 tomorrow

Bad news-my AOS package that I rushed to post office on Friday, was not delivered. On Tracking page it says-Delivery attempt, Notice left.

I sent in overnight Express. They will not redeliver automatically, it suppose to be addressee who can arrange redelivery. I am panicking if they don't

go to Post Office to pick it up ,then in 15 days it will be sent to me. I am not used to sending packages , I don't know the procedure.. So afraid that it will slow me down tremendously :crying:

What to do???

I would call the NVC first thing in the morning and ask how they handle missed deliveries like this. If they don't indicate that they would arrange for redelivery or pickup, then call whoever you sent it through and try your best to get them to make another delivery attempt during normal business hours on your request. Don't freak out yet, hon...one of those two calls are likely to ease your mind. (L)

How are other people sending their packages to NVC??? Are they sending thru "regular mail" (no return reply acknowledging receiving of packet) or "register mail" (returning an acknolwedgement)?

I've been using the US Postal Service's Express Service. You get tracking and delivery confirmation.

Maybe not the cheapest, but USCIS, NVC and USPS are all buddies. Works like a charm.
