Timeline

Okay never mind...I just went to update my timeline and saw that packet 3 is an 'instruction' packet thats apparently supposed to be completed and returned, while packet 4 is listed and the appointment letter to which I was referring. So I have no clue.

Only thing I can think of is that the format may be older. I have a feeling that packet 3 may be the former version of the DS-230, which is now all completed at NVC level whereas it used to be at embassy level. I think they just need to update the timeline fields.

ok updated my VJ timeline and wonder what in the packet 3 do we have to send back?? I thought packet 3 was the interview date and packet 4 was the forms for the medical

While not 100% sure, I'm pretty sure that packet 3 is the interview letter and information sent by the NVC after your interview is scheduled, since its the next thing to be sent to you. Speaking of which, I received mine on Thursday...right in time for the medical on Monday (whew!). Its packet 4 that I have no idea about...unless the consulate sends you something as well after they receive your case? I'm not sure.

Good luck on Monday with the medical!! So how long did it end up taking to receive the interview letter? I t appears that the list of approved MDs in Canada is getting smaller and smaller - let us know how busy it was for you in TO and how long it took. I won't be in your position until well into next spring or summer but every lttle bit of info helps.

Thank you. :)

My interview letter was dated Oct 16 and received Oct 30 (so 2 weeks to southern Ontario). I booked my medical on Oct 17 and then the next day they narrowed the panel physicians to 4 in all of Canada. LOL. At the time I had three to choose from - 2 in Toronto and 1 in London. Now 2 of those doctor's no longer do the medicals, but the one that does just happens to be the one I booked with. Yay for not having to reschedule! :D

I've been dreaming about my medical every night for the last week. Last night I dreamt that I forgot the money order for payment and had to do half on debit and half on credit card (which is funny since they actually take neither). The night before that I dreamt that the bus got me there late and they had to reschedule me. The night before that I dreamt that I didn't get my interview letter in time. I think I'm becoming less and less stressed about it only because I'm getting the chance to practice handling every worst case scenario while dreaming! LOL

Jeeeeez. Mrs. Dream,

Probably your jubby has asked you why you don't dream about him that much?

I remember when I was going for my citizenship interview I had crazy dreams.

CHD, you are going to be done very soon.

4. That VISA smile :)

Nimche, since your case has no room for error (we're not in a huge rush) you might want to bring a copy of EVERYTHING.

I mean, just to be safe. The last thing you need is for them to say they're missing something you sent in, and the copy is in San Diego.

Timeline

Lets see. Let me leaf through my littl...er...huge ####### accordion folder here. I will be bringing the following:

THE OBVIOUS:

- Interview letter

- Passport

- Passport photos

- Sealed medical envelope and chest xray

- Pre-addressed pre-paid envelope (required by the Montreal Consulate)

DOCUMENTS:

- Copies of every document and form submitted to USCIS and NVC (including my AOS package from 2007)

- Every receipt and piece of correspondence received from USCIS and NVC

- Copies of all vaccination/medical records that I will be presenting to the panel physician

- 3 most recent pay stubs for each my hubby and our cosponsor

- My International Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) letter from the IRS

- School transcript

BONA FIDES:

- Photographs of us together (I found another one, giving me a grand total of FOUR! :D)

- Our wedding photo book

- The visitor's record issued to my husband by Citizenship and Immigration Canada when he drove me home in 2007

- An invitation to a friend's wedding with the envelope addressed to both of us

- A printout of the beneficiary information of my life insurance policy listing my husband

- Valentine's Day/Birthday/Anniversary cards to each other

- Flight itineraries from our visits

- Receipts from the money he wires me

- Cell phone calling records from October 2007-November 2008 to prove the frequency and duration of our communications

Sounds like a lot, I know. Its a heavy file. Funny enough the phone records alone make up well over half the density of it (they each consist of 35-55 pages).
