congrats prince!!!!! got through finally they said that my ds230 hasn't started being reviewed yet... but the last operator last week said it was..WTH?? and they said to allow 2-5 weeks. Gerrrrrrrrrrr

hey guys!

two questions!

1) on loto's coversheet she said we need "Original/Certified Passport Office Police Certificate for Beneficiary " she lists this separate than the PCC. um...what is this? im abotu to freak out!

2)....where is the website with the ds-230 form? I filled it out already but made a mistake and now cant remember where I even got it from..

thanks guys!!

The second police certificate listed in Loto's guide is specific to applicants from India. We should actually update the wiki to indicate that since this is becoming a common question. The DS-230 form can be found here.

Thank you SO much! I was starting to panic! hahaha

that is a good idea..to update that. There is just so much information it is overwhelming! I had this all ready and put together to be mailed out before i went to visit my husband for the summer and must have known that at the time because I did not include anything else!

Thanks so much!!!!

I dont know what I would do without you guys!!

Also, I mailed out my AOS documentation today. I hope to have EVERYTHING in by the end of the week! Mail from Jamaica is a real dread!

"Mail from Jamaica is a real dread" :bonk:

HEY....we updated/improved/refined/remixed the LingChe NVC Guide. It's in the Wiki now, so we can easily keep it up to date.

It's a lot more user friendly than James or Lotto's guides, and it doesn't contain a lot of country specific information that could be confusing, but has links

on where to find your country specific information such as PCC requirements.

PLEASE, have a look, make a comment, tell us if you like it, what's wrong, and how we can improve it....then pass the word.

Thanks

Just seeing what you guys think. Lets say the case is complete on 15th, 16th or 17th which "possibly" is the last day to schedule interviews. Do you think they will schedule you for an interview for november if your case is complete on their last day of scheduling interviews?

ChooChoo,

Anything is possible...and I think it's more likely that they would put you into the November schedule than not (if you complete by Oct. 17th).

ALSO...Nimche really likes it when VJ folks put their timeline into their signature (My Controls/Edit Signature).

You don't have to if you don't want to....but there was this one guy that didn't do it...and he went outside one day, and it started raining.

Maybe just a coincidence...but you might not wanna get on the wrong side of Sir Saint Nimche the Good and Gold.

If your case is completed before they finish scheduling the interviews, then its still possible you could get a November one provided there is still room at your embassy.

Lars, can't you just move your trip so that you can arrive just before the interview and then maybe come home with her?

I mean, 2 trips to Peru can't be cheap. If you got THAT kinda cash...pick me up one of those globes that you shake and it snows on Peru :)

Congrats on the interview date.

I'm heading to Tokyo a week from today, and back on Oct. 22nd, there's no way I could move my schedule/flight for her interview. :(

I already made the arrangements to take off this time with my work, my daughter is flying out with me too so she has already made arrangements with her professors for the 6 days she will be there, the airfare is rather cheap right now (450-500 RT) and I am too damn excited about leaving tomorrow night to give it up...I wish I had THAT kinda money, but another trip isn't going to kill me and I can always make the money back...I will definately find you a globe that snows on Peru....

Wow...$450 - $500 is a killer price. That's about what... 1/3rd or 1/4th the price of flying to Brazil?

I've been wanting to go back to Costa Rica (our honeymoon) but maybe we'll look into Peru next year.

And I hear you about "I can always make the money back"....but you can't make the time away from her back.

Good on you for being able to make 2 trips....and thanks in advance for the globe. :)

INTERESTING NOTE - I just looked at our DS-230 question #20, and we put Ring Ring's current addy from XX-XXX to 10-2008

and we didn't get an RFE. Maybe they just don't like it when you put down a date in the present or past...because at the time we submitted

our DS-230, 10-2008 was still in the future.

we'll see ling ling i put date to present

i had more of a question i think it was on 14 "who will be accompanying you from blah blah line" which went back to his spouse which was me. I may or not be able to accompany him but because my name was in the "spouse" line i put my name down.

I hate the second guessing this makes us do sucky...

Sounds like everybody who put in "Present" instead of a date were fine.

As for question 14...we did the same thing, and were fine.

It's good to review the form and look for errors, but you don't have to second guess yourself.

You'll be fine....what's that...you're calling NVC now?

we put 9-2008 on ours and when I heard everyone getting RFEs for that I started worrying, but it slid by them, thankfully...I don't know if it made a difference, but she has lived in the same address since she was born...getting a RFE on the DS-230 AND the AOS would have suked BIG time...I really don't know why airfare to Lima is down, my June trip cost $665 and at the time I thought that was good...

I think we are wasting our time discussing immigration issues. We should talk about new sources of income as our future has been changed.

I should open up my kiosk selling these shortcuts at least I may be able to make up for part of these trip expenses...

I'm actually trying very very hard to fight the overwhelming urge to call NVC and see if I have an interview date. I know I don't. I believe there are still Canadians waiting with cases completed in August who will be accommodated ahead of me, and i'm 98% sure I won't be in until December. If I start calling its going to turn into an obsession over the next month. But still...there's a chance...a teeny weeny chance...
