Ilya, it's been taking a bit longer for RFEs, but you should be done before next Thursday.

Depending on your consulate, you'll be in line for a November interview. Don't sweat it.

Enjoy your weekend. They will schedule November interviews all the way up to Oct. 17th.

Thanks, I hope so!!!!!!!

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

I have no idea what the problem is with my I864EZ except this is what the NVC gal told me -- because I listed my net income (from my previous years' tax records) and it included some alimony, that I was asking them to include income that wasn't documented in the EZ. Um. OK. But what does my income from the previous years have to do with anything? My current income doesn't include any alimony (not getting any) and I can't exactly support someone with money I don't even have anymore so shouldn't they look at the current income and then in conjunction with my previous years be able to say, "she's got a good track record and makes more than enough to qualify"?

Of course she might be completely wrong as she was interpreting someone else's notes. But you know, if that's what they needed they surely didn't state it on the checklist. Can't they say what they're looking for instead of leaving it to chance like that?

Anyway, screw it. I sent off an I864 even though it sheds no more light on things.

Ok, so since my I-864 now says PAID online, i can print the barcode sheet and mail the package tomorrow. I was going through my forms again and just want to make sure on this question.

On the I-864 part 3 question 8, it ask "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above." Which i checked off because i am the ONLY sponsor. but then right below it has a "Yes / No (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)". What do i do here, do i check mark it yes or do i not check it at all? The example Ii864 here on this site has marked yes and that form only has the petitioner as the sponor.

What have all of you guys done for your I-864's? Your advice will really be helpful as i am mailing the packet tomorrow!

Oh yea and another question is should I fill every space on the I-864 with n/a if it doesnt apply.

Specifically, his address in pakistan doesnt have a zip code, should i put n/a?

He doesnt have a social and alien number, should i put n/a even though it says (if any)?

No middle name, should i put n/a?

Question 13 say mailing address if different from above, if it same, i can leave this blank right?

I might be over analyzing all of this but if I really dont want to get an rfe and i know most of you guys have already done this and have case completes, so your suggestions on how you did things will really help me and all of us out.

Thanks all!

I'm not particularly knowledgable on the I-864 as this was my husband's baby, so I'll let the USC's of this thread answer your more specific questions. However for the N/A's in the blank spaces question, I instructed my hubby to make sure there are no blank spaces anywhere on that form UNLESS it is very clearly indicated that the section is optional (such as the assets section), or the multiple choice ones where only 1 option is to be selected. Our I-864 was accepted with no issues.

I just want to point out though that you'll want to be careful before blanketing the form with N/A's, as it may not be the appropriate response for all questions. Looking at the copy of our form, a couple examples I see are where he entered 'NONE' for questions 6 and 7, and where he entered his total income for 2005 as '$0' since he was in college and did not work that year. A picky evaluator could have technically RFE'd for those questions had 'N/A' have been entered there, as it is not the correct response.

I put everything that is not applicable N/A (I usually fill out immigration forms with all capital letters)

Middle name=N/A

Zip Code=N/A

anything

Make sure it make sense. You can make it nice and totally understanable.

I really don't recommand anyone to use I-864EZ as becomes more complicated for the officer,
