Just got off the phone with NVC and was told my DS-3032 & AOS bill was generated today (8-28)...tried getting our IIN but didn't have much luck...also I noticed on the spread sheet that my NOA2 approval date is listed as 8-20, it was actually 8-15...anyone have a smooth method of extracting the IIN out of the operators?? I'd really like to get a jump on this NVC processing, I will be in Peru for 2 weeks in October celebrating our 1 year anniversary and it would be sweet to get a quick NVC approval with a mid October interview date...i'm sure that won't happen, it'd be to easy...lol...

First of all CONGRATS on your 1 year anniversary...and being able to celebrate it together.

We had hoped to be together for our 1st anniversary, but it just ain't gonna happen.

As for extracting IIN, I tried smooth and tried brute force. I tried talking to supervisors, and absolutely nothing seamed to work.

I just kept at it, and tried to keep my cool (at least when initially speaking with someone new).

I even asked if there was some policy on who can get it, and who can't. There is no rhyme or reason.

Best advice is to keep calling. I've heard (and it's been my experience) that evening operators are more likely to be of "assistance".

Also...if you keep up with things, at the pace most of us are going, there's a good "possibility" of October Interview dates.

Based on what I've seen here, it looks like the cutoff for Interviews is between the 15th and 19th. So you'll need a case complete

by Sept 15th to have a possibility of getting an October Interview.

Good luck, and congratulations again on your anniversary....lucky bahstad :-)

Thanks...

i will just keep calling til I find someone to give me the #, I'll make it my new 1 hour ritual before I go to bed, I am not going to bank on nailing an October interview...I definately plan on being there for the interview so it sure would be convienent and save me alot of $$$...we'll all get through this together eventually...I'll be sure to update when I get the IIN

i heard that it doesnt matter when your case is finished that the interview dates are scheduled according to when NVC RECEIVED your case..

thoughts?

there are pple in jamaica that were approved by nvc in MAY and STILL dont have an interview date

Hmmmm, I don't think there's any sure formula....that's why I said "possibility of October Interview".

But I do think that if your Case Complete comes AFTER the 20th of the month, there's a considerably lesser possibility of an interview the following month.

Since none of us works at NVC or the consulate, we can only guess.

My guess is that after a case is complete, they look at the workload of the Embassy and schedule accordingly.

I'm guessing that Jamaica is a busier Embassy than say the UK...because the UK is a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) country and they don't have to deal with as many tourist visas.

With that logic, I'd have to guess that any non-VWP country is going to have a longer wait for both non-immigrant and immigrant visas.

I don't see how they could base it on when it's RECEIVED at NVC, since receipt can have very little to do with the progress and completion of the case.

I just wish they would do away with paper, and the unfairness of NEW stacks of paper getting placed on top of OLD stacks of paper.

I hope EVERYONE will be with their loved ones as soon as possible.

CHD, I guess by the time we are close to NVC's finish line you may need to add another column to show total days spent in NVC.

Just a suggestion, but it would be nice. Thank you again for your hard work.

Hey Nimche, we're trying...but since somebody didn't order their police report yet, can't send in DS-230...

and since somebody needs a doc from mortgage company and bank...can't send in I-864 yet.

So the good news is 2 spankings are in order. :-)

As for sending your COA tonight...make sure you've got the NVC case number, Beneficiary name and DOB, Petitioner name and DOB in the subject line.

If the operators haven't told you that they've sent the DS-3032, be prepared to send it again after they can confirm that it's been generated.

At this stage, you can't really screw up anything by sending the COA too early....unless you forget to send it again when the system is expecting it.

Just having an NVC number only means your USCIS Package was scanned.

Your file isn't really setup until later when other data is manually input, and then they send out the COA/DS-3032.

Until they have your file setup, there's just no place for them to file your COA.

Good luck...so say we all :-)

I don't understand the DS-3032 form (Declaration of the Choice of Address and Agent for Immigration Visa applicant)

Who do I choose for an agent??

Its depends. Most people choose the petitioner as agent to save on mailing times and avoid any language barriers. However this means that the beneficiary needs to have the DS-3032 and DS-230 and supporting documents completed and signed and in the petitioner's hands ahead of time. Quite honestly though, if you intend to follow Loto's Guide and James' Shortcuts to speed up your process, then you won't need to wait on anything to arrive in the mail anyway, so the agent selected won't matter.

And the sheet has been updated.
