Can we use the same barcode when returning RFE items or do we have to wait for the RFE letter (ie does it have a special barcode/reference number required)?

Thanks so much for any help, Im trying to get this sorted asap

I wouldn't wait for the actual RFE and you usually won't see what exactly created this problem. If you have DS-230 signed you can use the IV bill barcode as a cover sheet and make a cover sheet basically explain the situation and say RFE Response on it and + the DS-230 corrected sheet. I would make both parts, (I) signed and (II) un-signed.

Good LUck

Thanks sooo much for your invaluable advice guys

Don't rush yourself to make sure everything has been filled out right. Don't you forget to put N/A for anything is not applicable to you.

If you have it ready today you can USPS before 3:00 PM or Fedex,DHL or UPS it before 5 PM probably.

That sucks you got an RFE. Good Luck

Updated! Congratulations to Martina and Jim for case complete!

I have to say, I can't believe how many RFE's we have on here. Just think, if VJ trolls like us who know the entire process in and out can't get it right, I can't imagine the RFE's that those who have never stumbled upon a place like this would have to face.

Can we use the same barcode when returning RFE items or do we have to wait for the RFE letter (ie does it have a special barcode/reference number required)?

Thanks so much for any help, Im trying to get this sorted asap

Just use the same barcode that you used to send your DS-230. For my RFE I asked NVC if that was acceptable and she said it doesn't matter. Make sure you write "Checklist Letter Response" on it just in case whoever opens it is on glue and can't put 2 and 2 together. I did this in the open space below the barcode.

Thanks again guys for all your help :D

I called back and was told our RFE is the same as Martina and Jim. The lovely man even said it's happens A LOT as people fill in the form on the computer lol.

Luckily I sent my husband two signed undated copies of the DS-230 just in case we got an RFE. He will put in PRESENT by hand and date it for today. He'll send out with barcode (thanks for checklist response tip CHD :D ) and covering letter. Phew problem sorted :D

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet CHD

Just called NVC, no update on our case :(

But I know everything about Dom Perignon and Moet Champagne.

We took a 2 hour train ride to tour the cellars, and taste some vintage champagne.

It's a very labor and time intensive process. Really gives a new appreciation for the Champagne Method,

as well as for how much money they must make. Just one bin in their cellar holds 98,000 bottles....and I saw at least bin #68.

Figure the cheapest bottle is about $50 bucks....that's a lotta grapes.

Anyway, got to hangout with the wife and 5 of her flight crew. People were wondering why I was so lucky :)

My wife is the greatest, and the respect from her crew really shows that.

It's late here, but I might try NVC once more tonight.

I can't believe it's taking all this time to review Part 2 of the DS-230.

I mean, all the rest of the packet has been reviewed...they just need to look at the page that

says she's not a terrorist.

It's only check boxes. How long can it take to see that she didn't answer "yes" to any of the questions?

NVC is no longer fun. I'm ready to be done with them.

...the journey continues.

I am calling NVC again and I love these people. Ringing5,6,7,8,9,10,....,11,12 holly molly, 13,14,15,16.. An Asian guy with accent (no offend) never had any king of experience with him. I had couple of hispanic people before. He said they put the expedite into the system and it may go out anytime.

I asked about DHL pickup hours or when they will mail it out and he said they don't have any information about it.

More Waiting game.

I am totally sick, after this process I will put myself in cure process to get healthy again and ready for normal life. Not only I have butterfly for no reason but I have insects and I am totally tired of dealing with NVC.

I don't know how familier you guys are with DHL reference tracking (you will get familier soon) but I am dead. I have been trying this since morining to find some relationship and I found one. Reference number is based on when NVC asks for shipment to be pickedup.

* ie. NVC calls DHL today 9-30-2008 to have their package to be pickup then reference number will be "EXP 30 SEP 2008A"

DHL might pick up the package on Oct 1st but your reference is still SEP 30th.

Based on operator's speech over the phone, my package was expedited and ready to ship out, They have no idea if it has been gone out or when it will. They have no idea about tracking number or anything related to DHL (they don't even know when DHL picks up packages daily)

I looked at most DHL reference number for SEP30 and SEP 29 ( I didn't see mine) SEP 28,27th were weekends so nothing overthere, but SEP 26 I see only one package to Italy and was picked up yesterday SEP 29th (I wish this was mine) I say lots of Japan and thought about Ling Ling and some Madrid.

So if you guys feel like you couldn't understand it, let me know and I will explain more. Its pretty simple. Later I saw some about this process in Loto's shortcut.

This is website to track by reference number: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

Peace

PS, why you guys are so quiet?

Any updates in anyone's case?

NOTE: they didn't clear my PCC in their system and just sent it to embassy.
