but...what is a packet 3 that is sent in after NVC case complete and a packet 4????

You are going to Madrid ( I mean your husband will go to Madrid embassy for his interview)

I got my RFE in the mail today and its really no more clear than what the operators were able to tell me. It looks to be a copy/paste job and doesn't specify exactly what was wrong with my original police certificate. Oh well. Glad I covered both possibilities with the new one!

can someone tell me what the problem is with the police certificates?

They mostly say that the certificate you have is not from the right authority and you need to obtain it from such and such department and such and such stamps and seals.

NVC is really picky on this particular one, even there was nothing wrong with mine (NVC operators told me I can use copy) but they sent me an RFE for no reason.

I understand, these are outcome of 9/11 so they have to check everybody to make sure they have proper PCC and no criminal records.

just checked out the link... but packet three has a ds 230 in it??? and some sort of ds157k????

Keep in mind that instruction is for everyone means, K1,K3, Cr1/IR1 so there you might see some stuff that are not requiered by embassy to collect from you.

You should check Madrid's embassy, or you may better off to send them an email. Even though they may say that it is too early but doesn't hurt to try.

You should wait for BB, since she is doing interview in Madrid as well. This is the quesiton I had as well, but I have no answer for it. You may just get Packet 4 which is all interview requirements.

Update: I called NVC just right now and they are confused and I am pissed off. It has not been mailed out yet so no luck for me today.

actually I was wonder about that 21 days.

I am always curiouse what happens in any weired case? I am still asking to this date from NVC, what was wrong with my PCC and they have no answer. They won't give me any details of the whole thing and it is really frustrating.

I am cooking on behalf of my wife for my self.

I am sooo happy!!!!! :dance: We are done with NVC.
