Hi Nimche,

my hubby is U.S. citizen, I am the beneficiary of I-130.

My hubby was in the Czech Republic this September and I gave him the DS-230, I signed the DS-230 in September. I also gave him two more signed DS-230, dated October 2008 and November 2008.

I didn´t write PRESENT on any of these forms for question number 20.

I tried to type in PRESENT in question number 20 now but my computer doesn´t let my write PRESENT there. It says I need to fill in numbers, not words.

Martina

I know it doesn't. I unlocked the form and change the setting and now it doesn write. There is another program which makes you able to write over a PDF file. I can't remember the name but may able to find it.

you guys gotta tell me though how long did it take for them to review and case closed.

about the emailing the ds3023 I opened an account under my husband's name and emailed (from gmail) got an automated responsed seconds back it took about 10 days (see my timeline) to accept it. But it was accepted.

I can't believe we've been doing this now for almost a month in NVC and almost done. I am so excited i started cleaning out the closet to make room for his things hehehehe

I would have mailed it through USPS today(express for $16.50)

Are you going to Spain yourself? Got air ticket for your trip? Let me know if you know anywhere good...

VJ timeline has no DS-230, I did notice it two weeks ago

Review without RFE take about one week to 10 days.

Good Luck

It sucks that people just listen to media and Media literly destroyed Middle eastern and Arabs and no one even wants to trust. They may have to perform a security check on him and that sucks even more. Thanks to our current president and his administration that have to suffer this much.

Nimche... i forgot to say congrats...

I understand and support the added security however i don't think it should be limited to just Arab Men. And even still, what happened was horrible i reinlisted in the service after 9/11 but don't think those that want to do bad to our wonderful country don't have their ways and months and months of AP for our spouses doesn't solve anything.

The reason i mention this is because of the AP is only for the CR1 immergrants where if i were to get him in on a K3 he doesn't have a background check until he is already here or a k1 so where is the thinking on that one????

sorry soap box if they do APs on Arab Men for CR1 i think they should do it for all visas student, work, k1, k3 and not just singling them out.... anyway, just wanted to air that out. The media here in the u.s. is so different than in Europe strange and we're the land of the free and freedom of speech????

Nimche, we need to stay off elevators...they think the Black guy wants to steal their purse...they think the Arab guy wants to put a bomb in it.

Hi everybody,

when I filled in my DS-230, I forgot to put 'Present' in the question # 20...

I wrote from 1/1978 to 9/2008.

Do you thing this could cause a RFE? NVC is reviewing our DS-230 now. Should I send my hubby a new DS-230 just in case?

Thanks

Martina

we did the same on our DS-230 and according to NVC our DS-230 is complete and just waiting on final review of our corrected I-864...using the adobe wont allow you to type in "PRESENT", only a numeric entry...maybe we just got lucky with ours...sending your hubby a revised one couldn't hurt just in case, and tell him to call NVC everyday and speak with a live operator to check the status of your case, that way if there is an RFE issued you will be able to act quickly on it...

Lars speaks strong truths.

If you wait for NVC to notify you of an RFE, it could take weeks instead of days.

Example....I learned of my RFE on Sept. 24th (had already anticipated it and sent in the info on the 22nd).

NVC says they sent out the RFE letter on the 24th. Today is the 27th and I still haven't received the letter.

Even if it comes next week, I'd have lost 1 week, and then have to scramble to gather the requested info.

Since I anticipated the RFE, I'm back in the groove before the RFE letter hits my mailbox...meaning I've already sent the

requested info back.

Lars, you found out about your RFE on the phone too...right?

yeah, found out on one of my daily calls to them and overnighted the corrected AOS to them the same day..took 8 days for me to recieve the RFE hardcopy in the mail, so calling NVC everyday is definately worth doing...was joking around with an operator about how I call them 2-3 times a day and she was like "thats no problem, thats what we are here for"...and I asked her if it's logged everytime I call, and she said YES...lol...my call last night ended with the NVC operator suggesting that I call back mid october...uhhh yeah...ok...
