I'm not sure..my daughter wants to do this term(and possibly the whole year of school in Toronto...so I figure I better start looking into the permit..

Thanks for the link Krikit..but this is where I get confused..she will be returning here every month or so.. so I don't know if she needs a re-entry permit or not?I briefly talked to my immigration attorney about it..but I swear shes nuts!!lol..she said don't worry about it until december..and she can enter mutiple times with it..but it doesn't appear that way to me..it looks like its for someone whos going to be out of the country for more than a year..no returns..**scratching head**

Yes, you've read it correctly. It may impact her naturalization process, and some officers may question her about her PR intentions. But if she's only out of the country because she's going to school, they'll probably be more lenient.

hmmmm..so what do you think?does she need the permit?

I would make an InfoPass appointment, because if she's technically living in Canada and travelling back and forth while she's going to school, she may be denied re-entry at some point. I'd search uscis.gov and travel.state.gov for any info they have available too.
