A question about GC interview!!!!

Our interview was couple of days ago and I am kind of puzzled. I apologize for not letting the board know in advance and giving full details... My wife and I were very busy with coming up with documents and I busy with school.

Anyways, here is what the officer did during the interview:

Asked for proof of ID ( we showed our Drivers Licenses)

Asked about my wife's medical examination

Ask about how we met

How I support my wife (I showed my employment letter)

When we got married

evidence of living together (we showed bank statements, utility bills and so forth)

However, the officer never asked for our passports, marriage certificates, pictures, or my wife's EAD card or AP document.

He said to us that he has enough info now and the case is pending and will let us know by a letter.

What does this mean? Will my wife get her GC soon? The officer did not even take a picture to be put on her GC, if she is approved? So does this mean we will have to go back and do this step again?

I would really appreciate if someone could response with the same scenario... Thank you

Did your Wife already have her biometrics done?? if so they have the photo for the Greencard... it sounds like you maybe approved pending checking.... maybe the interviewer was new and has to have everything doubled checked....

Hello Kezzie,

Are we talking about biometric for I-485? If that is the case, yes she had it done long time ago. She also had her EAD biometric done as well long time ago.

One thing I forgot to mention, was that the interview letter said "Initial interview process". I wonder if that means there will be more. Anyways, it is just confusing as heck. Thanks for the reply.

Based on your timeline, your application is 'old' enough to have most of the preparatory work done on it already. Since the interviewing officer did not mention whether your wife's name check is still pending, my guess is that he needs a supervisor to sign off on his interview results. Hopefully, you will get an approval notice soon!

I hope that's the case but it's not always that way... My wife had her biometrics done last April and we got a notice after the interview to get new biometrics done to produce the card.

I hope that is the case eau... The officer did not mention anything about a name check or biometric. All he said was that your case is still pending and we will let you know in a few weeks. At the end he said based on the evidence that I have gathered, we will let you know. But thanks again for the replies everyone.
