Hey guys,

Was just wondering? Under the V.J. Step by Step procedures for I-129 and AFTER NOA2, EX,......What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

It states: Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

From what i learned from recent approvals at the Kiev Embassy, they do not require this anymore, as its NOT on the checklist. I was also told that hardly EVER, do they ask questions regarding this subject

So, do I NEED to include this still, or is it just BETTER to have MORE than less? Some tell me they are just file stuffers and aren't even look at proff of relationship a this point?

Be well,

JB

It's only a requirement when specifically asked for but when the Consular officer asks and you don't have it, there will be a delay in the visa issue.

The guides contain a lot of "best practices". Many of those practices end up being more than is actually required of most people. Some of them really save the day, even though, not generally required.

My advice is to follow the guides.

JB, I just attended our interview August 7. I did not need to produce such a letter and it was not on the checklist and they did not ask for it. They went strictly down the checklist and nothing else. There were no questions of any kind at our interview (read my review of the consulate on my timeline) and it was very simple, pleasant and took about 1-1/2 hours total, almost all of that waiting. Turning in the documents took maybe 10 minutes or less and the "interview" took about one minute. They handed back her original documents and gave us instructions about getting the visa delivered. Just have everything on the checklist and you will be OK. On the other hand, another letter is simple, cheap and easy to do, so if you are worried, just do it. I had much more than I needed and was glad I had it and didn't need it. It isn't like you can run home and get something you left on the kitchen table!
