Interview ?

I had a quick question for packet 3 and 4. On the checklist it states that we need to bring the expired/former passport along with the new passport. What do I do if my wife does not have the expired/former passport because she has lost it. Her K3 visa will be in Mumbai India.

Questions:

  • Do they ask for the expired/former passport at the time of the interview?
  • If lost what do we need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone there that can answer this question please reply. We filed the case for my wife with her new passport (married name) but when we got the check list from Embassy it asked for expired/former passport. But when she try to retreive it she realized that she could not find it (the passport is lost).

She has never been to US,

do we still need to present the passport?

What is the reason for taking the expired/former passport?

What should we do if we can not find the passport?

I just had my wife interview ...and she has a new passport ...( she carried her 3 old passport with her), nobody asked for the only passport ..as long as all the names matches ... what I mean is the name in the passport should match to birth certificate, marriage certificate, PCC, DS-230 ..etc. form her experience she didn't need it.
