We are hoping to send off Renato's aos this week. I was inc ollege last year and so I did not make anywhere close to the requirements for income. We have a cosponsor so I am not worried about that. My question is do I have to fill out the i-864 as well. Do I need to get all the supporting evidence for myself or can I just send it the stuff from co sponsor. Thanks everyone!

Yes, you still have to fill out the I-864 even if you have a joint sponsor. The family member sponsoring the immigrant has to be one of the sponsors, even if they did not earn enough to be a sole sponsor.

You should also send a letter of employment. The instructions for I-864 state that you have to show proof of current employment. But you don't have to send a letter from your employer - a recent pay stub works too.

This info is all in the instructions for I-864; it's a boring read, but important so that you can make sure you send all the information that is necessary.

I have read it but was just confused on wether I needed to send it all in as well. another question though.....what is his USCIS current status?

If he is on a K1 visa, the USCIS status should be K1 Visa holder. Not sure though
