I have been on this site long enough to look around at other people pages. I have noticed that some countiries visas are granted at VSC alot faster than others. Is it just me or does anyone see this also, what is the difference and why do some countries get aproved so fast when others take years and months???

depends on how extensive certain name checks are during this part of the process. Some countries may not have "red flagged" surnames. Some countries are not to "liked" by the US so they get a bit more scrutiny. And then some countries and names are just easier to process and they can crank though the databases on them alot faster. I dont really understand the whole thing. But just know that once you submit that application, government is cracking into every database possible to get info on you and the beneficiary. nothing is private anymore. Dependingon how many skeletons in your closet or petitioners country's closet means how fast you get through security.

I always say the fools before us who tried to cheat the system are the one's who make it harder for those after them to go through.

They learn and adjust through the years. Things that are difficult now, might change in the future depending on what they experience in issuing visas.

Some countries have let their reputations preceed them.

Very true Jomo. Reputations is definitly what its about.

Estadia, I dont know whats taking yours so long, I remember seeing you around a long time ago. I'm shocked you are still at CSC. The other thing is it could be that your case is just one of those funky ones that have no rhyme or reason as to why they take so long. idk

Mrs Walker, they do standard background checks. Say like the same for someone applying for military or a government job or police. So things like that. Not sure of all of them. But I read on another thread that a lady went to her fiances interview and the CO had pictures from out of her email.

Oboma also said they repeated back things to her at the interview that she had only said in e-mails. That one was kind of freaky. Big Brother.......

I remember an old post here on VJ that had a link to a name check base where you could type in your name and see if anything came up. For the life of me I can't remember who posted it or what the title was.

Ms. Walker I agree with JG and Lita...I sat in the US Embassy in Jamaica for 3 hours before we were interviewed and I heard some crazy, crazy things. People still try to cheat the system and sometimes they're able to get away with it and it just makes hard for those that do it the right way.

wow that is so crazy, because my mom was telling me she worked with a lady that got married but was seeing another man and they found out about. I thought that was just my mom tring to be funny, I was thinking how could they follow someone when they cant really get the paper work done n a timely fashion.

How can they find out?? Do they hack into peoples e-mails? Or do you think that a disgruntled person informs the embassy somehow.
