I have and F-1 and got married to a US citizen this Jan 2008. My student visa started from Jan 2007 and is valid till 2010. The marriage took place abroad and we both came back afterwards, him on his US passport me on my F-1. We are now about to file for my green card but the question is should we declare that we got married abroad, or just show out court marrige which took place here in Feb 2008?

What would be more feasible and least problamatic?

Show that you got married here. If you show u were married abroad then u would have to prove that when u entered on F1 u didnt lie at the POE that u came to study and instead u were married to a USC and had an immigrant intent. Just a suggestion not a legal advice.

Hi, it's kinda you have the same case with my nephew but the difference he still on his LPR status.. I talked to my lawyer about that and if you are married to US citizen that would not be a problem, you guys can apply for AOS and make sure you have a complete documents (picture of wedding, marriage contract, taxes of petitioner, etc). you can check for the requirements for AOS. goodluck!!!

check this site for AOS

Indeed, I say the same thing, you will get hassled if you declare you were married abroad since your intentions were clearly to immigrate to the US w/a student visa and this is against USCIS rules.

P.S. and please do not submit pictures of your wedding abroad :P
