Hello VJers:

Turning to you all for some advice again:

I was on H1B when I flied for AOS through my USC spouse. Since my AOS-related EAD was approved for 12 months, I have not found another job and am starting at my new place in 2 weeks.

Ques 1: Am I required to tell USCIS about the change in jobs/positions/salary even though we used my husband's income on I-864 as a spondor since he makes more that I do and we have no other dependets/obligations.

When we go for the interview, can they ask why I didn't tell them that I changed jobs etc?

Ques2: Since this EAD is valid for 12 mo., it is safe to assume that the AOS interview would happen in the interim time period. In case that we are not called for the intervew within 12 mo, does USCIS reissue EAD cards? Just curious...

Please let me know if you have any insights to offer.

Thanks

And, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who're moving along in the AOS process. IT is encouraging for the rest of us,

5/22/08: Sent AOS to Chicago Lockbox

5/28/08: USCIS acknowledged reciept of AOS.

6/21/08: Biometrics in MN

6/23 Touch on all

8/5/08: AP Approval

8/8/08 EAD approved

8/18/08: Touch on I-485, but nothing in the mail

My case is at the NBC/MSC

You update the USCIS of any change in your address... Changes to job/salary/position do not need to update..

If GC is not approved before EAD expires, you apply for a renewal... it is not an automatic process...

YMMV
